Can you FM me? I was wondering about how it works and if you've seen improvement.
TIA

Not sure how old your DC is, but I developed OCD (an anxiety disorder) around 8. My parents took me to a social worker who worked with children with anxiety disorders. It was 20 yrs. ago now so I dont remember everything but I remember talking with her and playing with a dollhouse with her. I think they try to get to the root of the anxiety and help you cope from there out.

My DD is going through some anxiety issues as well but she is only three. My ped gave me a name of someone but I am hesitant in pursuing it because I wonder if it is just her age or something more to it? Do you mind me asking how old your DC is and what they are going through?

She'll be 5 at the end of February. She's always had problems with change, new people, new places but it's getting worse. Even at school, they said in her classroom she's great, really self-confident and happy, but once they go to a special like music or art she cries the entire time. And she's been going to this school for 3 years and knows ALL of the teachers, it's not like they are new. It's just that it's in a different room than her classroom.
We tried a sports class on the weekends earlier this fall and she was so worked up she almost vomited in the car and refuses to get out of the car. Then she gets my son all worked up and now he won't go to the class either.

I thought it would be more like this, but the pediatrician said it would probably be more of the psychologist giving DH and I tactics to help her calm down. I was hoping it would be more of her learning techniques to self-soothe (besides sucking her thumb all the time) and to remain calm when DH and/or I aren't there.
I'm waiting to hear back from my insurance to see what they will cover (if anything) before I start calling around.
Thanks for the input. Anyone else have any experience with this?
