Does/did anyones 2.5 year old have constant meltdowns/crying fits ?
Heaven help me, I hope this is just her molars coming in or something because I can't take the crying anymore
Its over anything and everything....If you try to soothe her, she cries louder and harder...If you try to be stern with her (when its over ridiculousness), she cries louder and harder...If you ignore it, she cries louder, harder and LONGER
She is seriously going for an Ocsar and in the process she is making everyone in my house bonkers...Even my 4 month old looks at her like she is a loon
Please tell me they outgrew this and this is not her new dramatic personality

They outgrow it... some later than others.
DD1 went through it from 2-3.5. CONSTANT crying, temper tantrums, etc. Then, right around the time she turned 5 it started up again for a few weeks, but didn't last long, thank goodness.
DD2 is 27 months now and we are in that phase now. However, she is more easily distracted an disciplined than DD1 ever was, so I don't think it's going to last as long or be as intense. you know what works with her? I look her right in the face and say, super firmly. "Look at Mommy. Stop crying. (Wait til she stops) Now, we are ALL DONE crying. Let's go play (whatever)" It usually works with her.
Good luck!!!

The boys are going to be easy compared to Miss Bean...
I think, in her case, it's really just a show. She's such an actress about everything. Multiply that by terrible 2s, a new brother, and B as an older brother and that's what you get....Miny mommy squared...
The only suggestion I have is to ignore it. Not so easy with 2 other kids underfoot....by ignoring, I mean ignoring her and the tantrum, until she quiets down. But at her decibel levels I dont know how you'd really do that..maybe it will be easier once B goes back to school.
Will she stay if you put her on one of the white chairs? Like in a true "time out"? Like Lexi needs a breather...

I could have written this very question- except for my 1 year old.
It's just horrendous these days!

As far as I know!! My DDs did/are doing this... my DS had the isolated temper tantrum and was a human wrecking ball, but never that screaming whining horrible all day fit.

I must've gotten lucky with DS #1 then because although he gave me lots of gray hairs in other ways (climbing, jumping running) , never have I seen the likes of the crying this kid does
