Does it bother you when people just "pop up" to visit you?
This never bothered me before, in fact I used to love unexpected company, and that people felt comfortable enough just to show up at my house.
But lately, I have a friend who works locally, and she shows up almost every day...and its always right when I put my 2 kids in for a nap, or when Im trying to get them out of the house.....
I look out the window,and theres that white car in my driveway again 
I dont know, me personally...I would never not call & just show up at someone's house.
I dont have the nerve to tell her she's annoying, and how horrible would it be to not answer!!WWYD?!

So RUDE, a big pet peeve I have. Most everyone has a cell phone, pick it up and call. Not so hard.

I don't mind if it is family or one or two of our closest friends, but I am not close with anyone who would consider doing this on a daily basis.
DH has a friend that I could totally see doing this if we lived closer to him

On the other hand, no one really stops by unexpectedly... My inlaws NEVER come over, and I'm tired of inviting them. They always tell us, "no, you guys come here - we'll make dinner." It pi$$es me off. WT-F is wrong with getting together at our house??? SO, we never invite them over anymore.  AND I'm happier than a PIG IN $HIT about it!!!

It bothers me more when friends show up at my work. They all think that b/c I am self employed I can't "get in trouble." Well, I do still have work to do!!! My friends don't do that anymore, though. All it took was a few visits in which I never looked up from what I was doing.
At home, yes, I prefer a phone call first.

Same here. It would drive me crazy if someone showed up unexpectedly and I hadn't vacuumed.

me too. But this almost never happens. Everyone calls first- even if they are a block away.

Well...we really don't have people just pop up unexpectedly. It would only really bother me if it was realllllly early or realllllly late.

I dont like when people stop by-especially in the evenings after work. That is my down time.
I also dont like when people call me past 10:00.

That sounds like my parents and my sister and her husband. Everytime I invite them over they always tell us to go down there instead since my parents and sis live close to each other its easier that way.
I have gotten to the point where I don't invite any of them over here anymore.
But to answer the OP question, yes it does bother me. I like to have some time to straighten up and get myself cleaned up first.

YES!! I HATE when people just "pop over". I mean, what's so hard about calling first and asking if it's OK?  I think that's the POLITE thing to do!

I think it is very rude. I would never do it. Even my mother calls and says "Will you be around later?".

I say not answer. I would not worry about being rude. She is giving you no other choice....I could not live with the constant popping by and feeling invaded. Maybe she will get the hint, since you do not feel comfy being direct, yet cannot go on with the pop-bys. I would never feel at peace in my house if this kept happening.

Yes! I'm just not a pop-in kind of girl.
I like to plan and clean and look like a stepford wife.
I can't keep up the illusion if people pop in and see the total disarray of my daily life.

No one I know does this, and it would annoy me if they did. My parents pop into their parents' houses though without calling, they never seem to mind (but if I go visit them I always call).
