I am going out to eat on Friday to my fave place, with my fave gorgonzola cheese dip. It's bascially melted gorgonzola, and you dip crispy bread in it.
Does melting said chese make it ok to eat?

Ask the restaurant ahead of time if the gorgonzola is pasteurized...you might be in luck!

I think as long as the gorgonzola is pasteurized it's ok. I don't know about heating it, but the gorgonzola I get from the supermarket says from pasteurized milk.

I feel like in accordance with state laws and regulations all products must be pasteurized in NY. I could be wrong. But ask if it is pasteurized first, if it is you are in the clear!
