Does teething cause nighht wakings? CIO question as well
So i know my dd is teething. She has all the signs. She has also been waking twice at night wanting her pcaifier and i am assuming( correct me if i am wrong) that wanting that pacifier is a sign her gums hurt.
Anyway my downstarirs neighbors are going away for three nights and i thought i may start cio since they are not home and i wouldnt be disturbing them but is it mean to do it when i know she is in pain? Also she falls asleep in my arms in the rocker but honestly i just sit down put the pacifier in her mouth and she is gone in about two minutes i hardly even rock her. This routine doesnt bother me. Its the night wakings where she doenst want to go back to bed or at least not in her own bed that are the issue. Do i try cio to go to sleep or just at her night wakings?tia

I wouldn't do it if she is in pain, personally. I normally give Tylenol and rock him for like 10-20 minutes (enough for it to kick in) and then put him back in the crib w/his paci and usually that works to sooth him back to sleep.

Re: Does teething cause nighht wakings? CIO question as well
I always feel like if the baby needs me b/c she is not feeling well I have to respond. If she's crying for no reason, that's one thing. If my DD needs me to comfort her....I am right there. Teething has definitely caused night awakenings but I just deal with it. If I hold her for a few minutes with her pacifier, she conks right back out. I wouldn't let her CIO if she was in pain.
