Does this quote sound reasonable?
We are looking to stain the hardwood floors in our home. The hardwood is new (red oak). Stain and 2 coats poly for $5K.
This includes 2531 sqft and the stairs.
The quote seemed high and not sure if it is reasonable. Any thoughts?

Re: Does this quote sound reasonable?
sounds a bit high, however, that is a lot of sq feet to be done....and they always charge a lot for anything done to stairs.
but, it still sounds high to me..especially if the floor is new.

That seems a little high - we had ours done, about 1975 square feet, plus stairs, and paid around $2,200.

Re: Does this quote sound reasonable?
I think it's an okay price, but a little on the higher end.

Re: Does this quote sound reasonable?
i think it's high even with the sq ftg. am i correct that there's no sanding involved? we had sanding/staining/poly for $1800 for our entire 1st flr. (2 BR, kitch, DR, LR, hall, stairs, foyer).
i would get at least 2 more quotes - we got such a range with this one - i think the highest we got was 4k, lowest was 1700.

Re: Does this quote sound reasonable?
That seems very high to me. We had our entire 2nd floor done for under $1000. Definitely get more quotes!

Re: Does this quote sound reasonable?
Can you guys recommend who you used? I was told that even though the floors are new, they will ikely require a light sanding. Please let me know. I'd really like to get some more quotes...
