landscaping quote---does this sound reasonable?
we have a 60x100 plot. our grass and landscaping is a DISASTER--and that's putting it nicely. it's overgrown, full of weeds and just disgusting. nothing has been done with it in about 8 years.
a friend's father owns a landscaping business so i trust him even though i haven't seen his work. i know he wouldn't s crew me over and will do well by us. this is what we were quoted:
*rip up grass in front and put sod instead *level out dirt in the backyard and sides (horribly bumpy and very uneven) *reseed back and side yards *cut out beds *trim and fix plants/shrubs/bushes that we have already *plant new shrubs/bushes/plants/etc
labor=$2500 sod=$100-150 grass seed=$100-150 plants (will choose with him at the nursery)=$1000-1500
total: $3700-4300 depending on plants we choose

I have absolutely NO clue if that is good or bad but the labor does sound high, no?
We are looking into this also so I'll let you know what I find out!

i had a walkway put down, garden beds no flowers or anything for 2500.00 so... i guess it's not that bad?
i would definitely get some other quotes though?
did you see his work before?

Re: landscaping quote---does this sound reasonable?
i got a quote for laying sod for 60x100 (approx) it was $2,500.
so i think it sounds ok, since you are having alot of work done.
I agree, get some other quotes.
good luck!
my backyard is a mess and can't wait for next spring to have a nice backyard.

Re: landscaping quote---does this sound reasonable?
I have had a lot of landscaping professionally done. This sounds about right. It's usually pretty expensive. The sod sounds a little cheap though, comapred to what I paid for sod in my yard.

Re: landscaping quote---does this sound reasonable?
My dh owns a professional landscaping company, and as far as whether or not this is a good price really depends on what plants/shrubs you are getting put in like many past poster have said. Labor is expensive, and it does sound like the job is very labor intensive. I do know the end result will be worth it though!
