Does this sound reasonable?
We are HOPEFULLY closing on our new co-op on Friday and we need someone to come in ASAP to do our wood floors. So far we got 1 estimate and we are hoping to see someone else on Wednesday but I am afraid that we are running out of time to get more estimates. The work needs to be started on Monday so we are definitely cutting it close. The one guy quoted me a price of $2,200. This includes the cost to replace several floor boards (the floors are SUPER old!!) and sand and put 3 coats of poly on the floors. Approx floor size is 750-800 sq feet. If it is in the semi-reasonable ballpark I might just use him for peace of mind because I know he is available for Monday but if that seems outrageous I might just have to live at the in-laws for a week! Thanks!

Re: Does this sound reasonable?
To do it *right* you do need 3 coats and you need about 36-48 hours between each coat to cure.. this is the most durable hardwood finish you can get..
Some people do 2 coats- but you'll be in the position in a few years to have to redo the floors again, so even though it's a pITA, you're better off going this way.
Price sounds OK.
