Does your 4 yr old ride a 12 inch or 16 inch bike?
Noahs never had a real bike other then the radio flyer one ...I'm clueless

At 4, Amanda rode a 12 inch but she got it for her 3rd birthday. However, we needed to get her a 16 inch for her 5th birthday because the 12 inch was too small

hmmm...I think i might start with the 12 then b/c he is kinda 'behind' in bike riding..LOL and it may take him longer. he is also short for his age.

get him the smaller bike.. it'll help him learn how to use it without training wheels alot quicker.
once he has mastered ridiing it without the training wheels, then you can get him a bigger bike

We got DD a 14". She is tall...the 12" would be kind of short and the 16" is too big. The 14" was perfect. Got it at TRU.

DS has the 12 inch but you can raise the seat to 16.

ds has a 12inch one from last year and its still good for him this year. he sat o the 16 inch one in the store and it was too big. the 12 is a touch small, but i think it will be good for him til next year.

DS is 3yo but is tall for his age, I think he is 44 inches...we got him a 16 inch bike and it fits great!
The age on the box said 3-6yo

We have a "compacted" 16 inch. 12 was just right at 3 yo but would have been too small this year or next.

We bought DS a 12" when he was 3.5 he didn't ride it much last year, but is loving it this year. Next year we will have to get him a 16" though. He is/has always been tall for his age.

At 4, DD had a 12". Now at 5, I had to get her the 16". It would definately have been too big last year. She LOVES it now!!!

DS got a 12 for his 3rd birthday last August. He began riding it again this spring and it fits well. We raised the seat a bit. It all depends on how the legs are.

Depends on your child's height, my DD was smaller in size so she didn't use the 16 inch till she was like 6

I bought her the 16 in when she turned 4. she is turning 5 in a few weeks and its still perfect, we just raised the seat a little. Shes on the taller side and always has been. HTH
ETA: I looked up my old post about this. shed was 41 inches tall when i bought her the 16 in and it was perfect with the seat down. Now she is 43 inches and we raised the seat a little.
