Re: Does your DH Help around the house by choice not When nagged
his idea of helping around the house is raking leaves on the weekend, so..... that would be a BIG fat NO IMO.

Re: Does your DH Help around the house by choice not When nagged
DH is out of the house all day, so there is not much help during the week. . He does do the garbage/recycling.
Everything else I have to ask. He'll do it, but it had to be asked "Please bring the laundry basket up", "please put away your shoes", "please empty the dishwasher" .. he doesn't do anything on his own accord, I've learned to accept it, although I wish he would just look around and 'see' what I see.

Yes. I am very lucky! He does it all (laundry, he cooks, cleans, bathes and changes the kids etc..). He has always been this way, his mom told me she NEVER had to ask him to clean his room. BUT, he is a bit OCD about that stuff. Me? Not so much. Lol. But i got better once we were married!!

Not really.
I know this is a controversial topic on LIF but if I make him a list he will usually do what is on it and I don't have to nag.

Yes and no. On an every day basis, not so much. But every so often he goes into cleaning mode and then tells me everything I'm doing wrong with the daily upkeep.
This is my DH too!

He does stuff around the house every, single day without me asking. It's his house too, he should!

Re: Does your DH Help around the house by choice not When nagged
He is getting much better than he was. Some weeks he helps so much, and others he does not. I wish there was a little more consistency. He also likes to tell me after he does stuff. "I emptied the dishwasher. " "I did the dishes." etc.

Re: Does your DH Help around the house by choice not When nagged
I don't ask him to clean because I would not be happy with the way he does it anyway-BUT I do ask him to stay neat and organized. I HATE papers and piles around the house. In our home everything has its place and they are not where they belong. I flip the lid. So DH just puts things where they belong to avoid my type A wrath.

See my PITA does help out...is it the way I would do it? Never! But it's something...and it's only after 5 years of marriage and a threat of divorce!

I'm REALLY lucky... he does. He does most of our food shopping, does the dishes, the garbage, and he even cooks for us every night

Re: Does your DH Help around the house by choice not When nagged
Nag. I hate it. I refuse to give up the cleaning lady for this reason. We'd be divorced. I'm sick of feeling like a mother and it's also pissing me off b/c it's rubbing off onto our children.
