DM are they generic or name brand..
I wanted Duet (name brand) but co-pay would have been $25 so I got generic (same stuff) and it was $7
You guys shld look into this, ask your insurance co you may have options...

Re: Does your insurance company cover your prenatals?

I use Duet DHT & I am paying $40 for a one month supply, and get this- My OB only gave me a prescription for a 1 month SUPPLY!! $40 a month for prenatals is insane in my opinion!

I'm going to look into getting the generic stuff.

Re: Does your insurance company cover your prenatals?

Mine only covers the generic, not the name brand on the prescription. When I first found out I was PG, I bought 3 months worth of Target brand for $5.99 before even seeing the doctor just to get myself on them. Awesome, right?? Now, my pharmacy won't substitute the Citra Natal + DHA with generic for some reason, so I just started having to pay $50 a month. Booooooo.

Mine would be covered. Buy my OB said the prescription prenatals with DHA are the same as taking over the counter prenatals and a fish oil supplement. I bought a huge bottle of Nature Made Prenatals and one of Fish Oil. Doesn't cost much at all and there are 500 pills per container!

Re: Does your insurance company cover your prenatals?

I always thought Oxford was crap and made you pay for everything....but so far I paid 3 bucks this month for a 30 day supply of Duet DHA....not bad...

This made me wonder....do you girls pay a co-pay everytime you visit the doctor??

We don't have a prescription plan because it was a waiver and not worth the money..... I use over the counter - store bought. I used them with DS and not with baby #2.

That's what I take and right now it's free. 100 day supply. I'm going to the dr next week and will probaby pick up more samples free then. But for now I get my rx from CVS and it's free.

Aetna is my carrier.

Mine didn't last time, but they were only 2.49 anyways.

I go to my first appointment today, so we will see if they cover what he prescribes this time....

I take Primacare also and I think my copay is $30. I asked the pharmacist how much without insurance and I think she said something like $500. Can you imagine? $500 for vitamins??
