Does your newborn have off days with eating?

DS is 6 weeks today. Some days he drinks all his bottles with no problems. Other days he barely finishes 2 ounces at a time...he seems irritable whether it be from gas or trying to go to the bathroom...just over all uncomfortable and like he can't decide if he wants to eat or sleep. He's not spitting up so I know it's not reflux.

Just wondering why he has off days or if it's normal

DS will be 6 weeks on Thursday and definitely has "off" days. He gets soooo upset when trying to go to the bathroom and when he's gassy which is a lot of the time. Some days he BF like crazy (every 90 min) and other days he will eat every 3 hours. I can't tell you if it's normal but it sounds like both our DS's are experiencing the same thing.
