My DH told me we had a close call with my dog getting hit by a car yesterday. I still shudder when I think about it. Like all of you, my dog is my life.

DH was washing his truck and let the dog stay out front with him. He usually just lays in the grass, playing with his toys--he stays on the property. Well, NEVER AGAIN without a leash!

A car came up the block (we live on a really quiet street, on hill top with a dead end, so there's never many cars) and the dog bolted and ran right to the car. My DH was screaming and luckily the woman stopped, but it was a really close call. She didn't see the dog (he's little). I'm really glad I wasn't there to witness this scene. I think I would've had a heart-attack.

It's just crazy to me because my dog is shy. He doesn't approach people on his own (other than us) unless he knows them well and even then, he is a little timid. I can't believe he would just run up to a moving car.

OY!
