Don't know what to do DS will only sleep in Crib if Positioner is in it...
DS has been sleeping in his Bassinett for the past 4.5 mos (long story we had problem with crib so he was in it longer than expected).
Anyway, in the bassinett we have been using the positioner since he was few weeks old b/c b/f that he would not sleep in the Bassinett - not sure if it is the incline or the fact that it keeps him comfortable on his side.
We have been trying to transition him to the crib but it has not been working - he waks up several times crying and won't go back to sleep until finally i put him in the bassinett. Last two nights I tried the positioner in the crib and sure enough - he slept BUT I didn't - i was so worried he would suffocate on it i kept waking up all night long. b/c in the crib he can move a lot more and i am worried he will move out of the positioner and get it stuck in his face. in the bassinett he couldn't really do this b/c not enough space.
Anyway - does anyone have any advice for me - is this ok should i use it and stop worrying or is there something else i can try? TIA

I actually had Cadi in her positioner in the crib until she could start climbing on it.... It really should not be a problem... She slept in the bassinet and I thought it was the best way to have her get used to the crib that was at 3 months then one day we just stopped using it and she was fine

Re: Don't know what to do DS will only sleep in Crib if Positioner is in it...
I would keep DS in it until they are use to the crib and then wean it. I used a sleep positioner for both my son's similarly to what you did - in the bassinet and then into the crib with them. I moved them to the crib at 11/12 weeks and then moved the positioner when I could. And yes, they were both very wiggly and by morning neither would even be in the positioner or even between the support pillows. Not sure if that is best but it is what we did here.
My first son I kept it in until the end of his 4th month (he had reflux and the incline made me feel peaceful since he had a bottle right before bed). The 2nd boy didn't seem to mind and I moved it out like a week after he was in the crib and he had no issues.

Re: Don't know what to do DS will only sleep in Crib if Positioner is in it...
Thank you ladies this is a big help. We used the positioner again last night and again he slept much better. Although without the positioner he was moving around the crib like crazy in totally different positions - with the positioner he hardly seems to move so maybe he will be ok?
Niecey - that is part of our problem with DS. He has reflux and i think that is why he has always liked/needed the incline of the positioner.
I guess I will keep trying it for now and just watch over him closely and then try to slowly take it away as soon as i can.
Thanks so much!
