Re: Double Stroller thread

I myself do not have a double stroller but my sister's friend does and she says a side by side is very inconvenient. It's hard to get it in aisles at the store and when they go to outside events it's difficult to maneuver. So I would recommend a front-back model, although they may sell side by side models that are slimmer.
thanks for the info...this is a major concern for me too!

I literally just finished ordering my stroller. I got the Peg Perego Aria Twin. I had a single Aria with my first baby and I loved how lightweight it was. I was skeptical about getting a side by side but I tested it out in the stores and it was fine. The tandem strollers were so heavy (the graco was 38lbs BEFORE adding the kids), I didnt really like the sit n stand deluxe nor do I like jogging strollers and the strollers that look like one kid is in the storage basket.
IMAGE The Peg Perego Aria Twin 60/40 Stroller is Peg Peregos innovative side by side travel system, offering a unique split seat configuration allowing for the use of the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio car seat, and a toddler to ride in comfort. This lightweight stroller folds easily and compactly, and although it now accommodates a car seat and is designed for two children, it still fits through a standard doorway. Each rider retains his or her individuality with dual freedom of movement harnesses for the security and freedom of each child, as well as dual snack and play trays with cup holders. There are also individual, adjustable and ratcheting hoods. Parents will have room for everything with the large, open and spacious basket. The Aria Twin pushes easily with its all-wheel suspension and swivel front wheels. Its the perfect stroller for parents with children of different ages.
This is the one I recently bought. Honestly it was the ONLY double stroller that would fit in my trunk so I didn't have much of a choice. My first choice was the Zooper Tango but it was to big.
I have to say I hate the fact that one side is smaller but it is soooo easy to open...close and push!!
The description says it has vup holders but it only has one for the parents. I bought my own that attaches to the side of the stroller for Rylan.

This is my top choice as well. I am waiting to see Chicco's new double stroller when it comes out next month because we have the Chicco travel system now and I like it, but I think I'm leaning more towards a side by side.
I am interested in the Peg also... however I have a Chicco carseat and THREE bases and I think the Peg strollers only accept Peg carseats. I am pretty sure I want a side by side, so that is ruling out the new chicco for me, although I will test it once it arrives in stores.
I have this stroller with a Chicco carseat and it fits in but doesnt click in like it would with the Chicco stroller. I think they make a strap that holds it more secure.

We are getting the Baby Jogger City Select. We checked it out and just love it. It can be configured into 16 different positions. I can attach the car seat on top for #2 and keep Aidan in the bottom front facing. For us, the best part is that once Aidan stops using a stroller, I can continue to use it as a single for #2. I saw a woman with it yesterday and was dying to ask her about it but she never got off the phone for me to ask her. It folds so easily and is pretty compact for a double. I spent a lot of time with it at BBB the other day and was totally comfortable using it.I love the way it rides- totally smooth.
We're waiting for Chicco to come out with their double stroller before we purchase anything but right now the City Select is our top choice.

Do you know, is this stroller compatible with the Chicco Keyfit 30 infant carseat??
There is a separate Jogger City Select Car Seat Adaptor for Chicco carseats and it cost another $60.00
Do you know if the adaptor is a clicking type of thing or a strap? Im not keen on straps. I already have a Keyfit 30 so I am leaning toward the Chicco double model. What I don't see in that picture is a way for two children to sit without an infant seat and that may be a deal breaker when baby #2 is out of an infant seat.

Re: Double Stroller thread
The only car seats that click in completely are maxi cosis. For the others (graco, peg, chicco), it clicks and then there is also a strap. It is hard to explain but it is a secure fit.
You absolutely can put two children in when the second is out of the car seat. You use the second seat kit and you have tons of options in terms of front facing, rear facing facing each other. I can't wait for my DS to be out of the infant seat so that we can play around with the configurations.
As for the size issues, my DD is 2.5 but tiny but she is very comfortable in the stroller. She actually has taken several naps in it and she is not a stroller napper. I love that I can easily tilt the seat so she is reclined fully.
Hope this helps. I have had it for about 2 months now and absolutely love it! And every time I am out with it people stop me to ask about it.

Thanks for the info. It gives us a few more options. How does it fold up? How much does it cost?

Cost - it is a bit pricey because everything is sort of a la carte. To use it as a double you need the actual stroller which is 499, then the second seat kit which is about 160, and you would also need teh car seat adapter which is 60. So all tolled - 720. But, you can also use it as a single so in my mind it was a good investment for even later down the road if my older child doesn't want to use a stroller anymore, kwim?
Folding - I find it is easiest to just take the second seat off and the car seat adapter and then fold it. You can fold it with the two seats on when both kids are in seats. You can't fold it with the car seat adapter bar on so, I just take everything off. It is really not bad at all. I guess it is kind of like what you would do with a bugaboo from what I have heard, you just snap the seat out and fold the frame. The seats also snap in and out SO easily so I haven't found it to be a big deal at all.

Oh well, the thought was fun while it lasted - unless we get a benefactor, DH will NEVER go for it as we are house shopping. Thanks for the info.
