Re: Double Strollers - Side by side or front to back.....
I was going back and forth about this my entire pregnancy and decided to get a front to back and am very happy with my choice. The side to side's don't take many infant carriers - that was a major deciding factor. And I felt like side by side might be a problem shopping, etc...so we decided to go with the front to back. We got the Graco safari stroller and are very happy with it. We really only use it for walks in the neighborhood so far. hth

most definitely side by side. Besides being lighter and easier to handle, Hannah LOVES sitting next to Jack. She holds his hand, fixes his blankey, talks to him, etc. It's too cute.
I don't think she would sit in a front back stroller.
eta: like Kitkat said they don't hold a carrier, but I haven't had an issue. I have one that the seat reclines back and I lay him in it. If I just have him I use the snap and go.

Definitely front to back. You cant fit thru doorways with a side by side. And if you want to use a side by side, you can use those attachment things for umbrella strollers, once your baby(s) get older!

I liked this idea too. But I will be using an infant carrier. I know the Peg Perego can has models that a carrier can be attached to it. Its just so much $$$$$$.

I had both, and I prefer the front to back. I found the side by side difficult to get through most doorways.

I used a front to back. I really am not a fan of side to sides at all. Luckily for me, I am even past the double stroller stage now!

Same here! I also have a snap and go for when Julia is not with me.

Most side by sides will fit in doorways as long as they are up to fire code(31") Most of the side by sides I have looked at are 27-28.5 inches.

Re: Double Strollers - Side by side or front to back.....
I have both, neither is perfect for every situation. This is all based upon the models I own:
Pros of a side by side: **No one sits in the back to kick to pull the hair of the one in front **Both can see everything, for example, I don't care if we are at the store but at the farm or a zoo side by side is the best. **Many are umbrellas and are lightweight and fold up easier **Fits through every door way I've encountered.
Cons of a side by side: ** The middle wheel **No cup-holder or snack tray **Under the seat baskets are small **Impossible to fit between racks of clothes at stores in the mall. DC's get smothered by pants and dresses
Pros of front back: **Snack trays, cup holders **Front seat reclines partially, back seat all the way **Large storage basket **Maneuvers easier, larger wheels **Easier to fit through the racks of clothing and other displays in dept. stores.
Cons of a front back: **One sits in the front and the other in the back to kick and pull the hair of the one in front. **The one in back can't see everything as easily, for example, not good for parades, zoos, farms, etc. **Heavier **Less compact

Re: Double Strollers - Side by side or front to back.....
I like my combi side by side. VERY light and fits through every door I have encountered so far. It closes super easy too. When ds #2 was an infant I would just recline his side all the way down and put him in. Not much storage underneath and hard to turn, but I tried them all and loved this one.

Re: Double Strollers - Side by side or front to back.....
i have 2 side by sides and they fit through every doorway. As long as they are i belive 29-30" wide.
i tried the front to back and it was way too heavy and hard to turn and maneuver.
