double strollers....UGH!!!!!!!
how irritating....im thinking the side by sides are good bc they both get to look around, but how do u do it with the baby in the car seat those first, like, 5 months??? this makes me think you need the front to back ones, which is after the baby is older, who wants to look at the back seat of a stroller when they are 6 months old...
and do the side by sides even fit thru, say, mall doors?
im just at a loss, i feel like i am going to have to get 2 double strollers....
thanks for helping mommies of 2!

Re: double strollers....UGH!!!!!!!
I know how stressful it is!!
I went with a Maclaren techno double stroller and I do NOT regret my decision. It was a bit of a pain at times in the beginning.. (although she was born in the summer so putting her into the maclaren wasn't so bad because it reclines and she would just lay there and in the cold months, I used the bundle me for her car seat so I would literally detach that from her infant car seat that was in the car and then place her into the stroller and belt her and the bundle me in. It was totally worth it to me. Those duo gliders are too big and bulky for me. I can get through all mall doors and any door really and my kids (which are now 3 and 16 months) love being next to each other. Sure they have their moments where they torture each other, but I think that would happen regardless of whatever double stroller I got! lol
It is especially great b/c it doesn't take up so much space in the back of my truck and it's so much easier to bring with us on trips; whether it be local or other.
Good luck with your decision!

Re: double strollers....UGH!!!!!!!
I have an older model of the graco duoglider
sil just got the newer version with the cool handles and it is great I hate mine
I should add that sils stroller folds up so much smaller than mine and way easier to steer and is also lighter than mine

Re: double strollers....UGH!!!!!!!
side by sides Ii know from my first two--do not fit anywhere..,no mall aisles nothing! nada...they stink... I wanted a one behind the other a phil and teds and then I saw the report on tv how the baby in the backk can reach the wheel and get their hands tangled..I think***not sure there is a kit now to fix it..if there is I would buy this one. I for one..got a side by side jogger for now because it was a $500.00 stroller for 10.00 at a garage sale...I will worry about it after the 500.00 I have to spend on car seats... no win situation---then the front and back ones I always feel bad for the baby in the back. I did see one really sick one that was insane but Ii never saw it before and I am sure its at least 800.00.... I will ask the girl... it was like stadium seating.

Re: double strollers....UGH!!!!!!!
I got the Sit and Stand and it holds an infant carrier. We used it all the time to walk to the park and it was great, but I haven't used it since Halloween. However, I never took it into a store, but I probably wouldn't have regardless of the type of double...I'm by myself 90% of the time and I'm a total spaz, besides. I trained Katherine to walk alongside the stroller holding on and she does fantastic...so I still use my Pliko P3 all the time. Also, now that Abby is sitting up, she goes in the front of shopping carts and Kate will sit in the basket.

The BOB Revolution Duallie has a Infant seat adapter. It is one of the only side by sides that offers it. and its an incredible stroller. I do not have one "yet" but it gets great reviews.

Re: double strollers....UGH!!!!!!!
I've been looking at double strollers too and I can't find a single one I love. I don't want a side by side because even now with my Pliko there are places I have trouble getting through. I did look at the Aria, but when I put my DS in it he looked cramped and he is a skinny little guy. The Graco ones just seem SO big and heavy and bulky. I think the the Quatro Tour is 39 lbs! I think I'm leaning towards either the Joovy Ultralight Caboose or the Phil and Ted. The main thing I don't like about the P&T is that you can't put a car seat in it in the double mode. The second seat also seems to have like no support underneath. The seat seemed kind of flimsy. It rides SO smooth though and is nice and compact. For the price I'd want to really love it though, you know? Ughhh!

Re: double strollers....UGH!!!!!!!
This is exactly what I am going through. I can't decide either. I was wondering the same thing about fitting the side by side in the doorway at stores when I am alone.

I think fitting through doorways wouldn't be a problem. It's the narrow cramped aisles that are everywhere!

Re: double strollers....UGH!!!!!!!
I just got a side by side that holds an infant carrier... I literally researched strollers FOREVER!
I got the Zooper Tango and I only used it once but I went to the mall and it fit thru the doors!
And it looks really nice too :)
My older one was comfy in it and although it's a little heavy, they all are so not much you can do about that...

I was considering the Zooper Tango or the CIty Series Jogging stroller...I have been saving my money and giftcards since my newborn was born 3 months ago.
I'm so glad to hear it fits through doors!

I have the Pliko 3 and love it, so I was looking into the Peg Perego Duette and most likely will be purchasing it. I know a few people who have it and love it. ETA: you can also turn the seats to face each other and you can also fit the car seat Image Attachment(s):

I know that this stroller is a front-back which you're not crazy about but I've seen it in person and it is SO NICE!! Has a really generous basket and b/c it's an aluminum frame it's not super heavy...

The Sit and Stand served us well. I am very happy with it and still use it today when I am out. It's just easier to have them both contained when I need to be out in a store or mall with them both.

Re: double strollers....UGH!!!!!!!
Welcome to my world. I hate double strollers. I keep hoping some perfect double will appear on the market before May.
I like the concept of the Sit & Stand, but I think Ella will still be too young for it, since she sometimes fall asleeps in her stroller. Its just so hard to predict what she'll be like in 6 months...

Re: double strollers....UGH!!!!!!!
I have the Peg Perego Aria side by side. I don't know it it holds an infant carrier, as I did not use one. However, the stroller is VERY light and does fit through mall doors etc and steers sooo easy. I actually sent back and returned THREE other double strollers before this one. My 4 y/o (wears size 5) even sat in in for a festival this summer. I hate how they have great choices when you have one child, then when you go to two children you get so few choices. None of which have everything! Good Luck!

I went with a Maclaren techno double stroller and I do NOT regret my decision. :
I have this one (well actually the Twin Traveler, which is the same, just an older model) and LOVE it. I've been using it for 2.5 years, since my 2 were brand new and 17 months, and it has been wonderful. It absolutely DOES fit through mall doors. It actually fits through all standard sized doors.
I rarely use it now, and will be retiring it permanently after our Disney trip in April.
