Dp you wipe when DC pees in the diaper?
I always wipe DD before changing her diaper even if it's just pee. I went to a play date today and all the other mommies saw me changing her and told me not to use any wipes when its just pee?....I dont understand why...I mean....when you pee dont you wipe yourself?

When DD was born the ped said not to use a wipe for urine diapers.
I always use a wipe for the first morning diaper, and if she is really wet. Other times I don't, if its just a little.

But watch out! As the pp stated, this topic got very heated a few weeks ago. I'm still not sure why.

I always do but a few of my friends tell me not to...they say urine is sterile..but IMHO it grosses me if i dont wipe her..i wipe when i pee so i do the same for her plus its sitting in her diaper on her. I never even thought not to wipe her till i saw friends doing it

I will wipe her in the AM when her diaper is soaked. Other times during the day, no I don't use wipes for just pee.

Id rather answer the question than rehash old stuff.
I afford my daughter the same courtesy I afford myself - I wipe myself when I pee, so I wipe her when SHE pees.

my DH is reading over my shoulder and all he said was....don't you wipe after you go? Why would you not do the same for them?!

Yup, and why anyone REALLY cares about other children's genitals is beyond me  What's even more puzzling, is why anyone would choose to be condescending about it

Only in the morning after the night pee and then if he pees a lot I will wipe- otherwise I don't. Never really thought too much about it beyond that I use enough wipes on the poop diapers, gotta cut corners somewhere

I wipe everytime DS pees in the diaper. I never thought not to. I guess if the wipes irritated him I might think otherwise, but they don't.

no, I don't use a wipe for pee. I personally don't use a wet wipe to clean after I pee. I only use tissue to dry off any pee leftover, not to clean myself, that what showers/baths are for.

I do. I don't like the idea of her having sat in her pee for a while and then I just put on a clean diaper without cleaning. People say it is sterile and that we don't necessarily clean ourselves after peeing either (b/c toilet paper is dry) but I would wash myself if I had pee all over my business & on my butt. So I do it for DD.

The only time I don't is if it's in the middle of the night and don't want to wake him up even more with a cold wipe.
