Pee is mostly made up of water, but it also contains urea, which is a simple type of acid. It just makes sense to me to wipe it away, I would imagine any residual could make the skin raw...
I don't wipe for pee, never have, and my girls (1 and 2 years old) have each only had 1 diaper rash and have never been raw
me either, my dd is diaper rash free and no rawness either

I always do...I mean I wipe myself when I pee...and these poor little babies sit in it for while...so I do it for cleansiness and refreshment.

I don't know about YOU, but my kid doesn't sit in his pee for a while. Actually, he NEVER sits in it. Even though it's sterile, I don't let it touch his skin.

I only wipe in the morning when she wakes because that's a full diaper and her skin is wet. Otherwise, it never touches her skin, so I don't mess with it.
I hate the insinuation that people who don't wipe are letting their child run around all day covered in pee. Yes, I wipe after I go to the bathroom...because I wear underwear, not absorbant diapers. Diapers are designed to absorb the moisture so that it's not on a baby's skin. If you want to wipe them anyway - fine - go for it! But please don't imply that my daughter is covered in pee because I don't.

i only wipe for #2 diapers....the urine doesnt hurt them and ped said too much of the wipes is not good

I used to use the sensitive pampers wipes for every diaper change until my poor baby got a really bad rash. I was instructed by the dermatologist only to use wipes in the morning after a really wet diaper and for #2's. His rash has since cleared up so now I only use wipes sparingly as it seems that it may have been the problem in the first place.

And if people are so quick to judge about kids "covered in pee all day" all day then do some research on the chemicals found in the wipes you wipe with....or even the diapers you use!

I was kidding! Just thought I would put all of the reasons people get offended out there in one sentence 
To anwer the original question:
I wipe every single poopie diaper (obviously). I wipe the pee pee diapers depending on how much time I have, whether or not I brought a wipe with me, or if he has fuzz from the diaper on him (the Cruisers leave fuzz sometimes). If the diaper is really full (which it almost always is...this kid pees a LOT) then I make sure to wipe. But if he just had a little tinkle, I don't always because his skin is dry as a bone.

To answer your question, no, I don't. He is never wet to the touch and, well, I have a boy.
OMG, I thought it was a bumping of the same old thread yeah, I don't recall why it was so heated either
at any rate, we always wipe... my rationale is that I wipe when I pee, so I should wipe DS when he pees  he also always gets a fresh coating of vaseline with every diaper change
oh, and in response to Chelle's point (which I also agree with), our wipes, cream, and diapers are all organic/natural... (7th gen and tushies)...well, except for when we use vaseline... which is harmless IMO, so nothing harmful is being put on DS's skin repeatedly

I let him sit in it long enough Seriously though, I try to wipe him each time since I just have to, and he also has a very sensitive coolie. I have NOT wiped him (pee) in the past when I was out and about.
ETA: Isn't it amazing how people on here are so quick to jump and get all defensive? It gives me a good chuckle

Well boys don't wipe so I don't afford my son the dignity of wiping. I don't want him to end up being a sissy and getting made fun of for wiping his peepee off after going to the bathroom.

I think that the problem with this topic is that those that do wipe make it seem that those of us that don't wipe are letting our children lie around in filth and then not cleaning it off. the fact of the matter is, if it's not harming them, why be so judgemental towards those of us that don't wipe? Why use phrases like "afford my child that same dignity". Honestly, if you wanted your baby to have dignity you wouldnt let them sh*t in their pants all day long. You would become one of those diaper free granola types. so why not just relax about it and stop coming off all holier than thou. I would never judge another mom for how they parent, and so many people when responding to this topic come off very judgemental. Why not just answer the question yes or no, and if you want to put an explanation, don't do it in a way that makes it seem as if the other side is wrong. Many pediatricians recommend not using wipes so clearly neither side is right or wrong.

Can I mention a funny story about my son, not really related, but it just popped in my head again. When he started kindergarten, the teacher called me very concerned. She said Nicholas didn't know how to use the urinal at school. He would SIT in it Poor kid! I never thought to have his dad teach him that, and he always went into the restroom with me in public. Sooo teach your kids to use a urinal before starting school!
