Dr B and Multiples
IM starting with Dr B soon, he wants to be agressive with my stimulants since I only have one tube...im so afraid of getting more than 2 babies...does anyone know if this happens a lot....

what do you mean by stimulants? If its an IUI cycle , its a higher risk of multiples then an IVF.

You will know how many follicles you have (well, maybe not an exact number, but close) if you do an IUI and how many embyos are implaned it you do IVF, so you can talk with him about your concerns and try to make some decisions based on that.

It doesn't matter how many are created it is how many you choose the transfer. With IVF there is a slightly higher risk of identical twins so its possible you could implant 2 embies, both split and end up with 2 sets of identicals, but highly unlikely. MOST people I know who have twins from IVF had fraternal twins including me, Donna(I believe) etc.

are you doing IUI or IVF?
we did IVF and transferred 2 eggs.. i got pregnant with triplets but lost one.. i have 2 boys now.

I saw Dr B today and asked the same question. He said it varies greatly with each person.
for me i am doing iuis and have 4 follies and he asked me if we were ok with twins (which i said yes). Then he told me there was less than 5 % chance of triplets or more.

I really wouldn't rely on the percentage rates bc I did IVF and was told there was only a 30% chance of me getting pregnant at all bc of my age and history.....boy did I blow their stats out of the water

my sister's friend just did the exact same protocol as me with the same number of follies and TRIPLETS...they told her less than 5 %
TripletMom if that happens to me...I will have LOTS of questions (ps your little ones are sooo cute)

ok im not doing iui or ivf. Iui is an option that I may do if I only get one or two eggs, but I dont have an issue getting pregnant at all. JUST STAYING PREGNANT! OMg if I got three it would be a HUGE problem...I guess I need to really talk to Dr B about being less agressive with the meds......
