Dr. Browns bottles???????
Those who use these bottles...do you use the standard or wide neck bottles. It looks like the wide neck would be easier for us to hold but do you find one better than the other for the baby?

Re: Dr. Browns bottles???????
Looks like the standard is the most common. Did you guys buy 2, 4 and 8 ounce bottles?

Also, I find the standard size ones easier to travel with. Most diaper bags / bottle holders fit the standard size.

At my shower I received the deluxe pack that had all three but honestly...the 2oz bottles were not necessary - in my opinion. Some might argue the same with the 4oz - because the you can make all of thoses sizes in the big ones. But I liked the 4oz..still use them once in a while.

i wouldn't bother with 2oz bottles (i've never seen these?) because your baby will be taking more than that almost immediately. you'll go farther with 4oz bottles to start.

Re: Dr. Browns bottles???????
I use the standard and I would get a few 4 oz bottles but you will only need them for a little while probably. I have almost all 8 oz ones.

Standard - I find they fit in my bag better.
I would register for some 4 ounce ones...but in my opinion I think you will use the 8 oz ones most often - so register for those as well.

Re: Dr. Browns bottles???????
We've always used the standard, although I had one wideneck which I liked also (but it was a 4oz one). I wouldn't bother w/ the 2 oz. ones b/c baby will only use that for a week or 2. definitely 4 & 8 oz.

Re: Dr. Browns bottles???????
standard. I used the 4oz and 8oz ones. Found no reason for the 2oz bc my little chubbs didn't drink 2oz for long and when he did I used the ready to feed 2oz bottles (similac).

Re: Dr. Browns bottles???????
We used the wideneck bottles because we started of with the avent bottles which are wideneck as well, we eventually went back to them.
Having no dishwasher, besides DH, the Dr. Brown's were a PITA to clean!

Re: Dr. Browns bottles???????
We have both but I do not like the wideneck bottles so far. With the tall, thinner bottles, the lines on the bottle give a better indicator as to how much the baby drank. With the wider bottles, he can drink a lot before there is a difference in the level of liquid against the lines on the bottle. I hope that makes sense. I had a tiny baby and we had to measure his intake carefully by counting CCs. We even used tiny preemie feeeders from the hospital for a while. Also, the wideneck bottles were as wide as his face and it felt weird to feed him from something so wide. I think I will be able to use the wideneck bottles later on.

Re: Dr. Browns bottles???????
I just bought new bottles a couple of weeks ago and I went with the widenecks. I find them easier for me to hold and I am hoping Taylor will be ready to hold her own bottles soon so these seem easier.

Re: Dr. Browns bottles???????
we liked the standards for the 4 oz bottles and the wide necks for the 8 oz. I never had a problem with them fitting in my bag, bottle heater, or anywhere else. I just found the wide necks easier to hold (DD was a slow eater and I found my hand would cramp up) and when she was ready they were easy for DD to hold too. Supposedly the wide necks are easier for breastfed babies to transition back and forth from if that's a concern for you.
My advice, go to the store and hold them yourself and see what you're comfortable with. And don't stock up up too many bottles at first, you may decide you don't even like Dr Brown's. I wouldn't even get the 8 oz bottles until you decide what you and DC like best.
