Drama already with my new childcare situation...
I knew there would be some teething pains, and nothing ever runs smoothly...but my childminder just rang me to let me know that her oldest son (who is 11 years old) has suspected swine flu.
He was away on a school trip last week and came home on Friday night and was fine, by Saturday night he had a high fever and today was diagnosed with suspected swine flu.
Noah went to her house today, and the son was there, upstairs in bed, he only came downstairs when my husband arrived to take Noah home (came down because he knew the kids were going home) She just rang me to let me know that she has sent him to stay with his sister a few miles away for the rest of the week and she was still available to look after him tomorrow.
I am in two minds about this, I am not particularly worried that he will get it, but there is always that tiny teensy sliver of doubt...
So what would you do? I am so confused!!! I knew this kind of childcare would have its ups and downs, but I am confused...

Well, I kinda feel if he has been exposed, he has been exposed already, so you can send him. Hopefully she will disinfect the house really well tonight...

ITA- I think its great that she even had him go stay with her sister. Most people would just tell you sorry- son is sick! I didn't even think of this happening. My daycare person is just a mom with 3 older kids. I didn't even think of what to do if one of her kids gets sick! Yikes!
Hope all ends up well!

Thanks guys, I just spoke to my BFF Rosemary who said the same thing, there isn't any point in hiding, if he has been exposed he has been exposed. He is off to Jills house tomorrow! Thanks so much for your support!

I'm on the NHS!! I see midwives, not a doctor in sight! I am a hardy soul, strong as an ox, if he shows any signs, I will worry about it!!! I will keep a close eye on him for any signs! Other than that, Janice, this pregnancy is much more uncomfortable than my first (okay, I was 4 years younger....) but man, I feel like I did when I was 9 months pregnant, I am barely 4!!! So uncomfortable, not to mention the peeing. Oy vey, do I have to pee all the time!! How about you?
