Driving to Florida
I want to drive down to see my best friend and her new baby (DH is terrified of planes) How bad is the drive? And has anyone done it with a toddler?
TIA

Re: Driving to Florida
I did it in 2 days when Emma was 18 months old. It wasn't so bad. We brought the DVD player for when she got aintsy. We stopped in southern N Carolina.

Re: Driving to Florida
We drove down last May with my two sons (4 and 1) and had no problems. We took it nice and slow, made lots of Mickey D (with Playground stops!) and made 2 overnight stops, once in the Richmond area and once in Hilton Head (which was a little out of the way but a Disney property). We really took it slow and it turned out just fine--we did have a DVD player for the beginning of the trip and then that broke so we were nervous but the boys did just fine. On the way home we made 2 overnight stops again (one is SC somewhere and one in Baltimore) and that was fine too. It ended up being a 12 day vacation though b/c of all the added stops. When we do it again we will probably just make one overnight but with the baby who was just starting to walk, we felt like it would have been too much car time.
