Dry Black Beans
Has anybody ever cooked dry black beans? Today was my first time (I usually just get the canned black beans) and they came out light in color, def not black like the canned ones, I’d say they were kinda dark brown. They also ended up being too watery even though I used the recommended water amount and they boiled/simmered for 2 1/2 to 3 hrs. I don’t know if this is normal for dry black beans or I somehow did something wrong when preparing them?!? Oh and I first soaked them overnight (about 15 hrs)

Dry Black Beans
I don't know if that is how they should have come out or not but check out HowJenDoesIt on you tube. she has a tutorial on there about cooking dry black beans. Might answer your question.

Re: Dry Black Beans
I use my crock pot for dry black beans. There are a lot of variables: how hard or soft your water is and the age of the beans.
The water here is so hard, so I need to use bottled water. I kind of gave up making them, tbh.
