Dry Scalp?

DS is 5 months old and his hair is thinning and he has very dry scalp. I have tried Selsun Blue but it isn't really helping too much. Any other suggestions? I think I am going to call his ped tomorrow.

Re: Dry Scalp?

My ped told me to put baby oil on her scalp and comb it out. I made quite the mess, but I do see an improvement.

Re: Dry Scalp?

my DD had 1 spot of dry scalp, right at the very back/top and I switched to Baby Aveeno and it's starting to clear up.

Re: Dry Scalp?

I used olive oil. Left it on for about an hour then washed her hair. The next day it was greasy still so I washed her hair again and no dry scalp since then -- and that was bout 7 months agoi!

Mustela makes a product that you put on overnight and it softens the dry scales. You still have to scrub to get them off though. My DS had really bad cradle cap and after using that for a week or two it really cleared up.

Frequent bathing and brushing helps because then the dry skin doesn't stick to the head.

Mustela also has a newborn foam shampoo for cradle cap that works well.

A friend of mine told me that the Disney Shampoo Chat Icon for cradle cap was really good.
