DS allergic to our cats :( PLEASE....help me find them homes!!
After 17 months of ear infections (an average of 1 every 6 weeks) in DS who is a little over 2....we had him allergy tested finally.
Turns out the cats are causing his allergies.....the constant runny nose & inflamed sinuses lead to frequent double ear infections for him 
Even after 8 months on antihistimines, he is still getting them (we put him on the antihistimine because we knew SOMETHING was up and it was the one thing that helped a little).
We need to find the cats a home unfortunately. Keeping DS on medication or shots is not the best option for HIM....so we need to find both cats a place to live

We had the same thing happen with DS and had to rehome our cat, it was heartbreaking! I LOVED our cat so much and so did DS. Im just really sorry, but Ive totally been there and know how badly it sucks!

Have you tried thecatsite.com? It's a message board like LIF for cat owners/lovers. Maybe someone there would be able to give them a good home?

Are the antihystatmines shots or OTC meds? We were at the vet today and one patient's owner said she was on shots bc she is alleric to cats and dogs.
I'm allergic to cats and my mom is deatlhly allergic. We've never had shots. I'm on meds for other allergens.
I hope it's something simple as a shot.

OTC meds for now....allergist prefers avoiding allergy shots for such young children (he is 2) and we feel the same....his health is more important and he has been sick SO many times because of this.

Did you try craigslist? LIW Weddings? Also, try putting up a flyer with their pics in Petco and Petsmart and the supermarkets. They are gorgeous. Wish I had the room. Good Luck.

Craigs List says no pet adds....
I will defonately do the flyers up & try all those places! Good suggestion!

you can do pet ads on craiglist as long as you don't ask for any fee. I would put something up on petfinder.

I'm so sorry, try KIJIJI.com too. That is where we found one of our dogs. and the other poster is right, you can post in the pets section on craigslist but you can't "sell" them.
Small adoption fees are okay though and recommended so people trolling for free animals for bad purposes will be weeded out.

FYI: craigslist is a very unfriendly rehoming place, although some people are sucessful (much harder with the older kitties). Dont let the azzwipes get to you....although you might get less "hate mail" if you explain the situation like you did here.

My response was:
I don't recall there being any part of the ad asking for opinions. You live in a house with a sick baby and then talk to me about it.
And actually....he is all congested AGAIN because I was dragging some things from downstairs through the house today to get rid of them. This poor kid can catch a break.

Long Beach has a cat rescue, check them out for sure.
I would love to take them both but I would have a fight with DH over 1, and I have a dog...
Good luck!
(sidenote: there's no way to keep them in the basement? or anyone you know to help you out for a while? Like if a friend could keep them for a month to see if that really was the problem?)

So sad. Due to the economy, many rescue groups are filled but sometimes if you're willing to offer a monetary donation for you're cats, they may find space! Googleing some local cat rescue groups and offering a donation may work. The donation may be worth it because your cats will get the care they need and a good, approved, home. Best of luck to you!
