Due Date question

Which due date do you use...the one based on LMP or the one based on how your baby is measuring? I had my first ultrasound yesterday and the baby is measuring 1 day smaller than the due date bsed on LMP. I know the one day doesn't matter at all and when the baby comes, he/she will come, but I am curious as to what the "official" date should be. Opinions?

Re: Due Date question

Most go by the LMP unless you are measuring way bigger or way smaller.

LMP. the belly measurements and sonos are used to detect growth issues in utero, but your LMP date is your true gestational age.

Re: Due Date question

If I went by LMP my due date would be 9/21. My first sono at 7w2d the doctor assigned me 9/29 as my due date. However, according to the baby's measurements it should be 9/25.Chat Icon I tell people the end of September! I hate not really knowing!

Re: Due Date question

My dr. used the measurements of the baby at our 8 wk songogram to calculate my due date. For me, my LMP would not be the best estimate, bc my cycles were never 28 days.

Re: Due Date question

My due date is till by my LMP. And that's even after my baby has been measuring full term since week 34. Technically, my baby is measuring about 44 weeks now and I'm 37 weeks. He's still cooking and they never changed my due date.

Re: Due Date question

Our baby measured a little larger at the level II but I am sticking with the LMP calculation as my due date. The chances that the baby will be born on any one day in particular are probably slim anyway, so I just use the same due date I have been using all along.

Re: Due Date question

Both give me the same date. Is that weird?

Re: Due Date question

My EDD is based on LMP. I saw my Level II results. It was performed at 20w1d and every single measurement they took was between 19w6d and 20w3d. Based on this, I think the baby is right on target for EDD.
