Dumb question about deli meat vs. packaged meat...
Every time I go to the Supermarket I want to go to the deli to get sandwich meats (turkey, ham, etc.), but the line is always so long and I am too impatient to wait. I end up buying the packaged organic meats instead. What are the differences? Am I cheating myself out of better meat by not waiting at the deli or is the packaged meat actually better? TIA!

Packaged meats have more preservatives and sodium in them. (it helps them to be kept longer).
Next time, wait on the line for the boars head! I commend you for even eating that stuff. I cannot eat deli meat unless its Boars Head!

I do that too, I hate waiting on the deli line. I am always disappointed though when i get the packaged stuff, very salty compared to the deli items. I also feel like they have some sort of slimey coating on them. Cheeses I don't mind pre-packaged, but the meats, the added salt I don't care for.
