Dumb question, but will i know when my baby is sick?
DD is very congested and I used some baby saline and I just ordered a humidifier.
I know this is a dumb question, but how will I know if she has a cold or not if she doesnt have a fever? Will she be crying a lot more or extra fussy?

I was wondering the same thing! DD seems a extra fussy and congested but every time I take her temp she doesn't have a fever.

you can totally tell when your child has a fever- they are DEF more lethargic, and do the mommy thing- cheek to forehead....but thats not all- when my dd has a fever (its happened 2 times)- her hands and feet are on fire as well as her head- u can just tell... 
dont worry- youll be able to tell if it is just congestion or something more...

You'll be able to tell. They are MISERABLE. They will usually be more sleepy and more fussy b/c they are uncomfortable. Stick with the saline spray and the nose "plunger". The dehumidifier is good too. How old is DD now? If she is over 3 months, you can use the Vicks BabyRub and rub a little on her chest and it helps alot!

I thought DD was getting a cold last week - she had some congestion - that is still coming and going but never a runny nose - no coughing, no fever, no lethargy and no irritability - just smiles etc - I think it is just the heat in the house - we use a cool mist vaporizor now and she only has it when waking up and maybe after a crying streak now.

any time my dd isnt acting like her usual self, i take her temp. Lately we been taking alot b/c she had a small virus on weds. re: stomach, and now has a cold with a wicked cough.

oops DS used that stuff at like 2 months.  I didn't read that he had to be over 3 months.
