Dumb question from a new mom...

I want to/need to change PED. I'm annoyed at how they are handling a problem we are having with dd and I just am noT happy with th dr.

Anyway, how do I go about changing PED? Do I call them and ask for her records so I have them for the new dr? I want to do this today/tomorrow. Just clueless as to what I have to do/say. Chat Icon

I would just let them know you are switching practices and would like a copy of your DDs records. IMO, you don't have to give them any reason. If they ask, you can either be honest, or just say you wish not to discuss your reasons.

Not a dumb question at all. Once you find a new dr. you can have you old one fax over the records. You might have to go down to the old dr to sign a release form though. Good luck with everything.

If you've already found a new dr you can just sign a release of records at your new drs office and they will get your records from the old ped.

That is exactly what we did when we had to get a new PED. We signed a form and that was it.

I agree. You shouldnt feel bad or scared to ask. Its your right. I work at a veterinary hospital and people are always so afraid of what their Vet is going to think about them going to another hospital. They dont. It happens all the time. You are looking out for what is in you and your familes best interest. Goood luck
