Early blood tests question
Does anyone know if we are tested for being a cystic fibrosis carrier when we are sent for the blood work early on in pregnancy? I remember them taking a ton of vials of blood but I have no idea what they tested for. I wish I had paid more attention, I plan on calling the doctor to find out but the office is closed on Sundays. Please let me know if you have any insight on this. Thanks.

i know i was, because at my 10 week appt she told me all my bloodwork was good and i wasn't a carrier for CF

I think so........I think that first appointment where they take tons of blood, they're basically testing to see if you're a carrier for all sorts of things...as well as blood type, STD's and your immunity levels.

Yes I'm pretty sure I was when I did the 8 week blood work. I remember not being a carrier for it.

You definitely are. I just picked up my records because I am switching doctors, so I went through all my files, and that was definitely tested for on the same date as all my other bloodwork.

that was in my first round of blood taken....
I was between 7 and 9 weeks at the time.
