East Coast Fertility
http://www.eastcoastfertility.com/
Has anyone ever used them? They were actually suggested to me by my regular gyno.
I will take positive and negative stories.
I am not ruling out Dr. B, I am going to try him out, it's just the more I think about it the more I realize that with my work schedule it is going to be hard and stressful.
Or I'll take suggestions for Dr.'s on Northern LI on the Nassau/Suffolk border.
Thanks!

Re: East Coast Fertility
I go to North Shore in Manhasset and I am really happy there (not pregnant yet) I have to work in the city and I always request early appointments and 7am works for me. They tend to be faster in the morning but they do back up later in the day. Good luck to you on whatever RE you go with!
It may be too far for you if you live in Suffolk......

I am on the Nassau-Suffolk border so I could go either way, but my work is further out east in Suffolk.
Btw I was born at North Shore

Re: East Coast Fertility
I am going to Dr. Paulter at Gold Coat IVF in Syosset. I'm giving it another month or two of trying on our own (we have been diagnosed with unexplained 2nd infertility) and then we are going to start Clomid/ IUI. So far I have been very happy with the practice, though I haven't started treatment yet.

Syosset is great for me. What are their hours do you know?

Re: East Coast Fertility
I saw Dr. Palter for about a year. His hours started at 7:30 am and had late night appointments on Tuesdays. Staff was really great and friendly.

Re: East Coast Fertility
If you go on ivfconnections you will read terrible reviews about ECF....most women say "run as fast as you can"....not sure what it means but I do know a friend that hated them and ended up going somewhere else to get her BFP..

Re: East Coast Fertility
I see Dr. Zapantis at ECF. I absolulty love this man! He is very kind, compassionate and caring. On our first appt, DH and I were his last appt of the night. We had so many questions yet he never once made us feel like he was rushing us out the door so he can go home. He actually said to us, "I've done this a ton of times, but this is the first time for you guys so if we have to sit here all night until you feel comfortable, then that's what we'll do". He never pushed us in one direction or another. He always gave us all the facts, stats, etc on every different procedure and never said "you have to do this or you have to do that". He always wanted and encouraged us to make the decision that we felt most comfortable with. Whenever I call or email him, he gets back to me right away with in depth answers. We chose to do IVF/ICSI due to severe MFI. On the first shot, we got pregnant and I'm 6 weeks along now. I also find the staff there to be so sweet. The girls at the front desk know me as soon as I walk in and all the nurses and phlebotomists are so kind. When I told them that I was pregnant, they were all so genuinly excited for us. I told my ob/gyn about how wonderful an experience it has been with them and he said that he's going to start rec them more to his patients. Again, I just absolulty love them, the work that they do and the time and effort they put into our case. They truly are miracle workers there!

Re: East Coast Fertility
I spent 5 months at East Coast with Dr. Zapantis as well.
Actually, I wasted 5 months of my time, saw every dr. and nurse practitioner under the East Coast name, including Dr. Kreiner, had two miscarriages, no appropriate testing, spent too much money for nonsense co-payments, and with all of that, I was just a number.
I can go to the deli counter and take a number there. It's just the same.
Feel free to FM me, I'm very honest about my good and bad experiences.
ETA: Miracle workers they are not.

Re: East Coast Fertility
I was recommended by my OB/GYN to RSofNY - i went to the Mineola office but they also have one in Stony Brook if that's more convenient for you
I absolutely loved them - everything about the office is tailored for the patients convenience and care. The nurses were wonderful, the front desk people were great and i was under the care of Dr Trivax who was such a great guy. I ended up getting pregnant on my own, but that doesn't stop me from highly recommending them to anyone
I think you'll probably find people who've had good or bad experiences at pretty much any dr

Re: East Coast Fertility
I went to RSofNY in Mineola, East Coast, North Shore and now Im with Dr. B.
I did love Dr. Z at East Coast however right away I had a bad experience with one of the nurses that sort of turned me off to them. Some people love them others don't.
I loved Dr. Scholl at North Shore and the staff there. I was highly recommended to Dr. B by a hostess in a diner that I go to. She raved about him. He makes me feel so comfortable and I truly believe in him. If you have any questions please FM me. Good Luck!

I'm sorry Valerie, I didn't mean to be insensitive.
I do respect your opinion. I do feel differently. I did have both good and bad experiences at East Coast. From my tone, I definitely had more bad experiences, unproffesional, inappropriate, etc. I now have my miracle worker and I still don't have my LO!

I sooo agree with you! Dr Pena at East Coast Fertility is my MIRACLE WORKER, I had my DD through my first cycle of IVF w ICSI like you 2.5 years ago. They're my heros there, FOREVER.
*I guess the other poster is feeling a bit jealous:)
Jealous I am not. Now, that would be insensitive. Honest, yes I am. With or without your smiley face, that's a pretty strong word to throw out there on an infertility board.

Listen, I am never one to get involved in drama, but I think this was uncalled for. The IF board never has drama and we're always super supportive. I know KM's post was definitely not meant to offend and she even apologized. To say someone on the IF board is jealous of another woman who experienced infertility, and is now blessed to be pregnant, is really low. I think we're all very happy you have/will have your take home babies, but try to be mindful of those of us that are still here.

Same here. Especially after KM apologized. I hope when I do finally have a LO I don't so quickly forget the pain of IF like you did.

Re: East Coast Fertility
Let me first apologize if I hurt anyones feelings here, this wasn't my intentions at all:). I responded based on the posters negative annotation ONLY and "jealousy" is what came to my mind with the "vibe" the poster gave! I have been through and still continue to go through the battle of infertility and I feel blessed to be where I am today, hope for another success in the future and that ALL of you get the "miracle" you all truly deserve

Re: East Coast Fertility
But how does the word jealousy come to mind when all someone was doing was sharing a not so great experience with a facility? It just kind of sounds like you took sensitivity to hearing negativity of your facility and took it out on that poster.
