Eastern Suffolk People-Helicopters

I've been logging the low flying copters here in Ridge since 5:45pm, its been about every 35 minutes WAY TOO LOW.
I'm sending my complaint in now, I'll do it all summer. They are welcome to fly back & forth, they just better get up HIGH!
We had no problem all weekend till tonight.

It's only the beginning. I don't have any issues in East Hampton (we are east of the aiport), but my parents house in Sag Harbor is under the flight path and Fridays and Sundays are ridiculous in the summer. There have been many attmepts to get the flight paths altered, but so far nothing has been done.

the flight path just changed for the beginning of this season but it was mostly done so the people in western suffolk, north shore would be bothered. Now they fly over the Sound to about Rocky Point & then cut over down to Westhampton Airport & then East from there.
Small aircraft of all kinds use our lake as a marker on clear days, we have a problem with the tourist planes too. That was my mission last summer, to get them to fly higher.

Yup, we're on the sound in Centerville (in between Riverhead and Jamesport), and it's HORRIBLE! Every few minutes another one goes by

Tonight between 7 and 8 p.m. we were walking on the beach in Bayville (north shore Nassau) and there were dozens, and yes, I mean dozens of helicopters going over the sound towards Manhattan.

My ILs are in Port Washington and I commented that only four drove through during dinner. Last year it was about forty! It was such a difference from last year. Still not perfect, but way better than it was.

Wow - and I thought about how great they were doing in North Shore Huntington!! Past years they flew so low you felt like you could touch them - or at least see the people inside - now any that did fly over us this weekend, we pretty high and few and far between! and even then, I looked up each time to make sure they weren't too low (they have to be above 2500 feet)
seems like they just transferred the problem to another area? although less populated area
I guess they can't go over the ocean since it's an airplane flight path? Although I see tons of planes descending over the sound from our back window (I guess LaGuardia?), since we don't have any houses behind us.

I have no idea, but when you are on it, you know it!! It is sounding like they have changed their path though, I'll have to ask my mom how it was at her house this weekend. Getting them to fly higher was a big point of the arguments they had last year. I just don't understand why they can't fly over the water all the way back in

Thanks, I wrote down everytime I was woken up last night so I could call & complain. I don't complain when they fly over my house, it would be every 15 minutes, but when my house shakes it's time to call.

Honestly, one celeb does not contribute to the constant helicopter traffic. This has been happening for several summers now. People are tired of driving and sitting in traffic so they shell out tons of money to take part in helicopter commuting. Unfortunately it's becoming very popular.
