Eating whole foods/spitting out issue
DD will be 1 in 2 weeks. I have been giving her small pieces of whole food for 2 months now. For the most part, it never makes its way into her stomach. She is eager to eat it, chews it, then opens her mouth and spits it out She then reaches for either the same piece or another.
What gives? Does anyone have this problem? She won't really eat baby food anymore so it is hard for me to make sure she is full other than giving her bottles

Re: Eating whole foods/spitting out issue
My son is 13 months and I have this issue too. Sometimes he throws everything up bc he gags on a tiny piece of food. I hate feeding time! I keep giving him whole food every day and he is getting better...I would keep giving it to him every day so he has to get used to it.

DD is 14 months and does the same thing. She chews it and then hands it to me! I dont know why, but its mostly with meat.

Re: Eating whole foods/spitting out issue
i have a similar problem DD is 18 months old and still won't eat table food. She was evaluated by a specialist. To make a long story short, she doesn't have strong oral muscles. It was suggested that we mix in the table food with something crunchy (we use cheerios) so that DD is focuisng more on the crunchy than the table food. it works at times.
