EBFing moms....transitioning/weaning....whole milk?
DD is turning 1 in a few days and I am still BFing..no bottles, just boob....but water in a sippy throughout the day.
I'm wondering how you eventually started weaning, when? how? which feeding went first? How hard was it?
How did you start/transition on to whole milk? How much at first? When did you give it to them?
She drinks a sippy with water throughout the day, but know I can't keep milk in there all day long SO I am wondering what times did you give it to them?
So, if anyone can help a fellow BFer out, much appreciated!!

Re: EBFing moms....transitioning/weaning....whole milk?
DD won't be one until July 9th but for the past few weeks (I would say 3-4) I have been giving her a sippy cup of soy milk a day. She hs a dairy allergy so that's why she is on soy. I am down to nursing 3 times day so I plan on replacing each nursing session with a cup of milk. With DS I just replaced the formula with milk. I would start introducing it to her now in a sippy and see what she does.

Re: EBFing moms....transitioning/weaning....whole milk?
I started with one sippy with milk a day. I did the afternoon one because sometimes he was getting that as a bottle anyway because I work part-time. At first, I mixed whole milk with pumped breast milk that I had previously frozen. I let him carry it around (throw it, occasionally sip from it) for about an hour, then I usually put it in the fridge (I'm a little paranoid!). I did that for a week, then took out the next most inconvenient feeding (dinner time) and gave him a sippy. Now I am just nursing once when he gets up and before bed and he gets two sippy cups of milk a day. As far as keeping it cold, someone recommended that I get those reusable ice cubes to put in the cup. I just haven't gotten around to it yet! Hope that helps.
