Elecare/Neocate question

So I just got back from the ped with DS and they think it could be a combination of reflux and milk allergy and he wants me to try Elecare.

Is there a difference between Elecare and Neocate? I always hear you girls talk about Neocate.

How fast will I see a change in him IF this is the problem?

He gave me a week supply of powder. I NEVER used powder before, how the heck do you do it?Chat Icon

THanks again for all your supportChat Icon

Re: Elecare/Neocate question

We noticed a difference in DD in about a week or two. She was on Neocate.
I don't think there is much of a difference between Neocate and Elecare. Its like Nutramigen(by enfamil) and Alimentum(by similac), just different brands.
DD also had reflux and still does. She takes Zantac.

Unfortunately DD still has to be on Neocate at 14 months. Hopefully we will be able to try Alimentum and Nutramigen then work our way onto some type of milk or soy milk.

To mix the powder: put the scops in the bottle (lets say 4) then add the water to the 4 oz line and shake. If the liquid didn't reach the 4 oz line then fill to when it does and shake again. Its not like mixing any other formula, but you'll get the hang of it.

Good luck!!! If u have any other quest. feel free to contact me.

Thanks for the reply.

I put the water in first then the powder - so I ended up making a 4 1/2 oz bottle instead of a 4 oz bottle. I guess I did backwardsChat Icon

Yeah, thats what I did at first too. I called the company and asked them exactly how to do it. They said powder first, then water and shake, but add more water to make it 4oz.
