Elevated White Blood Cell Count
So my doc just called and told me my count is elevated and she wants to rerun at my next visit - but that's not for another 3 weeks! I haven't been feeling well but chalked it up to first trimester stuff (feeling drained, nauseous, etc). Of course, now I'm worried. Anyone have any experience to share? Any opinions on whether I should follow-up sooner than my next appt in 3 weeks?

Elevated White Blood Cell Count
I had a high count my whole pregnancy. They even went as far as to have me consult with a hematologist. He told me some people have a naturally higher white count when they r pregnant. Everything was fine. If you are concerned, talk to your dr.

Ugh I'm sorry to hear that!! Hope you feel better soon.
The odd thing is I don't really have any symptoms other than being competely run down at the end of each work day. But on the weekends I feel fine so I really think it's due to the long work days. Ugh....always something!

Re: Elevated White Blood Cell Count
I had elevated WBC 3 times they took my blood. Each time, I blamed it on allergies and sinus infection. After the 3rd time, they referred me to hematalogist and the physician said that most of the time it is elevated because of pg. With my blood results, she mentioned she didn't think it was leukemia because my blood count would continue to go higher, but my bloodwork revealed that my levels were flucuating.
On a separate note and unrelated to elevated wbc, she did send my blood to another lab and it came back positive for the ANA (lupus) antibody. It doesn't necessarily mean I will get Lupus, but after I give birth I will go to a rheumatologist for additional testing. In a way, I am glad I was referred to the hematologist. Otherwise, I would have never known about the ana.

I'm glad to hear that you found out additional relevant information. I hope things turn out well for you. What you've said is interesting to me as I've had a positive ANA my whole life (and APA and ATA) - I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis as a child and while many docs tend to disagree I still think this all played a role in our struggle to get PG. I'm currently wiening off of predinisone and am on lovenox (likely for the whole PG) to treat the autoimmune issues...but again docs still don't know if it's related. Nevertheless - I wonder if that all plays a part in the WBC elevation. More to think about!

I seriously think it is related! I also suffered with infertility and at the time I did get tested for ANA and it was negative, but I was positive for Hashimotos. I wouldn't worry too much your elevated wbc. You may have already found your answers!
