I do not think that an unborn baby can be a moron (or a newborn for that matter) as that would imply a degree of stupidity, babies at that age run mostly on instinct and thus intelligence does not factor in yet.
Also, I do not believe that being a republican neccesarily makes one a counterproductive member of society.

I agree that babies are not morons. But every human being has the POTENTIAL to wind up being a moron.
And I don't feel one way or another about Elizabeth Hasselback OR Republicans. I was just sayin' that babies are more inclined to adopt their parents viewpoints. If you don't like Elizabeth's viewpoints then you might be worried that her kids could adopt her views and carry on whatever negativity you believe she possesses.

I think it's pretty funny that all of this is unfolding all while the person who made the comment has YET to ring in.
Does anyone realize you are all saying the same thing? 
I think it's safe to say those who responded all feel a baby can't be a moron... with the exception of Whamtastic but that's b/c she's just a nasty, vegan cookie eating baby hater.

I happen to like her, and I think she's a beautiful preggo!
This is only her 2nd baby...she had a bit of difficulty conceiving due to her celiac problems.

ALL babies are special, regardless of who the parents are. When the baby is fully grown up and making stupid comments then by all means feel free to call them a moron, but this comment wasnt very nice. 
eta: i like elisabeth hasselback. i think she's very good at her job and dresses really cute  . i may not agree with EVERYTHING that comes out of her mouth, but its kinda harsh to pick on her kids.

Had i realized the controvery I would have EASILY fixed it. Seriously, I go on TTC/Parenting/Pregnancy boards all the time. I would never say it as a negative thing agaist babies .
i can easily see how it was taken the wrong way but really ladies..... why would I say that if i myself am TTC???

i think your implications were obvious and people blew this WAY out of proportion. im sure you dont think babies are "morons," and the attacks on you were unnecessary..

i don't really think she meant any harm by the comment... I think she was trying to make a funny comment about someone who stirs up controversy, whom people either love or hate. Her feelings on Elizabeth are apparent.
