Enough of the Presidential Election Talk - What About the Local Elections??
You know it just dawned on me that we've got the local elections too and well, I'm embarrassed to say but I know NOTHING about the candidates!
These politicians are very important as well as these are the lawmakers who affect our day to day lives.
I think in light of the presidential elections we've forgotten about our local government elections.
Can anyone elighten me?

Re: Enough of the Presidential Election Talk - What About the Local Elections??
Its definitely an issue when the Presidental election is the focus. All the plans that are proposed are only proposals until they are passed by congress.
Thats why I am voting for Stalzer for 2nd District in Congress. He is a normal business man that wants change.
Its a pain to find out who is running in your district so I added an easy to use link:
US Elections

NEwsday had articles about both the State Assembly and State Senate. These are 2 yr terms and have much more of an impact on issues such as taxes and education. News 12 has also been airing debates.

It's funny you mention the debates on News12, I just saw one over the weekend which is what sparked this question.
I'm going to see if news12 has any info on a debate between Tim Bishop and Lee Zeldin the candidates for my district.
