So..how did everyone do?

This was my 1st 5K and my official time was 33:34. I was very happy with that. I actually thought my time was 34:10 and I was happy with that!...LOL! But LisaW corrected me on the official time.
Im not a runner, but being surrounded by runners definitely helps to keep the pace.
I walked some of it, but think I ran most of it.

It was great meeting a few of you today. Wish I could've met everyone. Maybe at the next one.

Re: Entenmannn's Runners

It was my first 5K as well today and I finished in 40:29...which is really slow...but it's about 5 minutes faster than I usually do it so I was thrilled!!

Everyone who knows me is still shocked that I signed up to run and went through with it....I've been a non-athlete all of my life. So this was a BIG deal!Chat Icon

And...even though I can barely walk on my sore legs, I already know when my next 5K is going to be!

Did you see the sign along the routs that said something along the lines of :

The goal is to not pass anyone but to only surpass yourself!

And you did it! Great job.

ETS: I wanted to take a picture of the sign, but I really needed to FOCUS on running. I have a bit of ADD Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

You must have been right by me!! I finished in 40:48. It was my first 5K as well. My son was with me and pushed me to keep running. I know it was slow but my goal was just to finish and I did! Chat Icon Chat Icon Next year he wants us to do the 10K (at 8 minute miles no less)! So let the training begin.

My favorite one was the one in the last long stretch that said, Pain is weakness leaving your body

And that is bc my knees were killing me LOL

I was hoping to break 34 minutes, but did 34:03

Turkey trot next!

My brother pointed out the pain quote because he's a Marine and he uses that one all the time. I must be very strong right now!!

You did a great job Lisa!

Re: Entenmannn's Runners

Congratulations everyone!

I usually am above 40 minutes, but did it in 39. My friend who was with me is usually above 50 minutes, so she was psyched. And she's got a torn meniscus in her knee as well.

My husband... He did it in 25, I am SO proud of him! I saw him with the camera at the finish and had to ham it up for him:

Re: Entenmannn's Runners

Here I am after the race with my friend from work. She happens to be an Olympic trained race walker, as is her husband. He was running yesterday, but she was watching because she's doing the Diva today.
It was the ultimate turn of events when I was running a race and she was just watching because I used to be such a lazy bones! We had to get a picture because no one would believe it otherwise!
External Image

Oh...and I finished before her husband (he was running the 10K and was right behind me...but still! Chat Icon )

I was looking at the race times and saw someone finished first place at 35:18. I thought, wow - I wasn't that far behind! And then I realized it was the 10k results. Chat Icon

That's a great pic! Was that from after the race? I didn't look half that good afterwards. Chat Icon

Kim, you did meet me! Chat Icon I was standing with Lisa early before the 1/2 marathon started, over by the registration tent. I don't plan on giving up jogging, so I'm sure we'll meet again. Chat Icon
