Entertaining OOTers n NY

I have friends coming into NY next week, one has been here several times the other, her sister, who just turned 21, this is really her first time to NY so she wants to do all the tourist things, statue of Liberty, etc..they both also like to drink and party. I was thinking Culture Club is a lot of fun but I am so outta the loop on the NYC social sceen Chat Icon
Can anyone offer some fun ideas either day or clubby at night to do??
I am stumped THANKS SO MUCH!!

ps I was thinking a day trip to the Hamptons since neither of them have been out there but aside from looking at the lighthouse what else is there to do on a day trip?? TIA Chat Icon

You could do the wineries if you're going out there for a day trip anyway. If you're in the city there's a 3 hour Circle Line cruise all the way around Manhattan Island that shows you everything from a really nice vantage point as opposed to the those obnoxious Apple Tour buses that are stuck in traffic the whole time. We took our inlaws on this and they loved it and we learned alot about manhattan that we didn't know (lol). it's like $23 pp so that's not too bad. The cloisters is really neat (waaaay uptown) although it's not such a quintensentially NYC experience, but rather a little off the beaten path. Ofcourse there's museums and Central Park (horse drawn buggy ride is only about $15). Go to TKTS and get cheap tickets to see a show before you hit the clubs. TONS to do!

If you decide to go out east, you can definitely do the wineries. Maybe walk the towns (EH, SH or Sag Harbor). I they want to go out at night, there are clubs out east as well. Or you can just find a restaurant on the water before you head home!

There are plenty of bars and clubs in the Hamptons to take them out to as well. You can go to Beach Bar in Hampton Bays, Publick House in Southampton, Drift Inn, Neptunes, and Turtle Bay are all in East Quogue, BOardy Barn iand Whitehouse are in Hampton Bays as well as all bars and such in the area.

Fire Island is a nice day trip too! Take the ferry over and hang at the beach and take in an early dinner? I love it over in ocean beach or davis...

City:
Top of the Rock
Empire State
Ellis Island/Liberty Island

Out of Manhattan, I like Coney Island, Little Italy in the Bronx, the Botanical Gardens (Bronx or Brooklyn), Downtown Brooklyn, Williamsburg, Shea or Yankee Stadium, bronx Zoo, Queens Science Center

Cielo is a great night club. Also I had some good times on Macdougal street when I was 21.
