Ergo baby carrier or Bjorn
With this baby coming, I want to get a really good infant carrier. I have been looking at the Ergo, because everyone says it's better for your back. A few questions though.
1) Which one? Sport, performance, regular, there are so many choices.
2) I would want the infant insert. But it's the summer, isn't the baby going to be way too hot. It looks very bulky.
3) I was also looking at the Bjorn Synergy, anyone have this one?
I don't want anything complicated like the Moby Wrap, and I hated my sling when DS was a baby, felt like he was squished.

I love the Ergo, but could not for the life of me figure out the infant insert, so we didn't use it until DD was able to hold her head up well. We have both the Ergo and Bjorn and I like to switch it up now that she's bigger.

I did a lot of research and the ergo is better for baby's back as well as yours...the infant insert is not that bad and the baby really likes it! I have the organic baby carrier and it is comfortable...

ditto...our pediatrician recommended we get the ergo...DS LOVES it...the infant insert is pretty easy to use if you look at the directions....we got the organic one also (not normally an organic type of person but it was much softer than the non-organic one).....hth

I have the ergo also..not sure which one though. I like it alot. I feel like the weight is distributed well and it never hurts my back. I didn't have the newborn insert. I started using it around 2 months before that the babies couldn't wrap their legs around me and they seemed uncomfortable.

I have a moby, bjorn, and a baby k'tan. The bjorn is only good because it's very easy to get on. I hate how DD sits in it with her legs spread out and I hate the way my back feels after several hours (and she's not even 15 lbs yet!). I wore my niece around NYC for an entire day when she was 7 months old in a bjorn and I was hurting for a week after (and that was several years ago when I was in really good shape).
I got the baby k'tan because it's much less material than the moby and way easier to put on. I really like it. I also like that I can carry DD side-sling and forward facing in it. She has never liked facing me lol.
All that being said, I've heard amazing things about the Ergo. Everyone I've seen with it seems to love it.

I hated the Bjorn. It killed my back once DS was about 15 lbs. I later bought the Beco Butterfly and liked it a lot. I've also heard great things about the Ergo.

Never tried the Ergo. DD hates the Bjorn, so we never really used it. I wound up buying a sling.

I still use the ergo once in awhile and DS is 1 1/2...and it doesnt hurt my back
