Re: ErgoBaby vs. Baby Bjorn carrier
here is a comparison chart of carriers with pros and cons. i went with the pikkolo. I liked that the baby can face forward and also it had a high maximum recommended weight (which is 45 lbs i believe).

Re: ErgoBaby vs. Baby Bjorn carrier
We had both and I preferred the Ergo, when he was an infant I was able to use it to do housework, etc. while he slept. As he grew we used it when walking the dog and now that he can walk most of the time, but gets tired, I can have it with me to carry him if necessary and I don't have to push a stroller.
It also has a higher weight limit (40lbs I think) and is washable.

Re: ErgoBaby vs. Baby Bjorn carrier
After much research, the Ergo was better for children's developing backs and did not put strain on their ****** area...they can see out when you have them on your back...

Thanks for the chart. Based on it, I just changed the carrier that was on my registry from Ergobaby to the Pikkolo.

Re: ErgoBaby vs. Baby Bjorn carrier
I have both and there are pros and cons.
I felt like the bjorn was more supportive when he was younger. It it sturdier and covers him more. I use this for working around the house. I like that he can face out (though I haven't tried it yet!). It is also sooo much easier to take on and off then the ergo.
But the bjorn is harder on the back than the ergo, but the ergo still hurts. I like that he can move his hands more in the ergo and that it has more support around the waist. I use this one when I'm taking quick shopping trips, like grocery shopping. I also have the pretty one with tulips lol
