I can understand why you feel so overwhelmed - I was overwhelmed just reading your post! The good thing is that this is temporary - it won't be forever. RIght now it's a struggle but things will fall into place and you and hubby will make it work. Just above all, make sure you are talking to someone. Most important, to DH. In fact, I think the best thing would be to share what you wrote in this post to your DH - it's heartfelt, and it will help the two of you get on the same page. He'll understand better where you're coming from and the stress you are enduring, and I"m sure you'll learn from him that he doesn't just want you to "get over it".

A special thanks to DonnaMarie, as she offered to watch Grace and it looks like I am going to take her up on her offer. Donna, you are a saint!

I am so sorry you're feeling this way. Though no doubt as all the APs said you have every right to. I'm so glad that donnamarie can help you. I don't have any more advice above and beyond what's already been said just wanted to offer you so more Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon and hope you're feeling a little better now having gotten some of your feelings out. Barb's right you've got to ask for help. It's so hard and unnatural but it's what we have to do when it gets to be too much for the kids' sake b/c they need us to be 100% for them. Hope it gets better soon Chat Icon

I am sorry for all the stress right now.

I don't know your whole story but I know one thing you need to take care of yourself and get well or nothing will matter. If things are a little messy then so be it. Your 1st priority is to take care of yourself so you can take care of you child.

Hope things start going smoother real soon.

Thanks. The short version of the story:

I was born with a heart defect. Was told that IF I ever did get preggo, I may have problems. DH and I were married for 6 years before conceiving DD.

Month 7 of my pregnancy, I started having problems with my tricuspid valve (the valve that had the defect). After 6 moths of tests, 2 episodes of atrial fribrilation, seeing 3 specialists and more tests, it was determined that I have the valve replacement surgery and maze operation. Was put on meds for 3 months before operation, had IUD put in, was told I cannot have anymore children as the pregnancy blew out my valve. I was told that the operation would ward off a heart transplant because the heart was compensating for the valve and my right ventricle was deteriorating.

I had the operation at the end of May. Had family live with us for 7 weeks in our guest room to help me w/DD while DH worked and I recovered. I could not hold or lift DD for 7 weeks. I just started cardiac rehab 3 weeks ago. Bills started to come in for 20% of my surgery, hospital stay, cardiac rehab, etc. etc.

So that's the story. Chat Icon

I bet you are sorry you asked, huh? Chat Icon

Wow! That is quite a story. Hang in there. I am praying for you and your family!

As for cleaning, don't worry about that. The most important thing is you get better.

And I agree with others, the people on this board are wonderful. That was great that people are willing to help out with child care! Such sweet people! Chat Icon
