Set back the womens movement? Give me a break., I didnt say she should feed him grapes, I said she should make an attempt to cook a meal once in a while, and maybe HE could learn as well.
And no Neenie, I do not think they are lazy slobs, I just think they are lazy.
And a couple of you REALLY have surprised me.
Look's like there is a bandwagon for everyone.

You did say lazy slobs.

and being a lazy slob.
At least now you are saying HE should cook too
and maybe HE could learn as well.
My boss and his wife are like that... he literally created a "what's for dinner?" wheel. He spins a little arrow and whatever it lands on is what he's having for dinner. The choices on the wheel, as you can imagine, are: Burger King, Taco Bell, Wendy's etc etc I kid you not. He is skinny as a twig, but his cholestrol is through the roof.
Sad part is they have 3 kids but thankfully the nanny cooks for the kids.
Do they have kids? I agree ONE of them (not necessarily that SHE has to "make her man a meal") should TRY to cook some kind of meal a few times a week... if not for their health, at least for the sake of their wallets.

I should have directed my comment to "both of them". Men should cook as well. Since I cook ALOT, I really didnt consider that alot of women actually dont cook. I should have re-phrased it better. And thank you for posting without jumping on me.

YES...i think that was MY issue with the post...
YOU DIDN"T direct it to both...You addressed it to the females. About making "your man a home cooked meal".
And imo that is kinda
In my household i work about an hour away from my home. MY DH works 5 mins. He is home usually by 3:30. I am home sometimes by 6.
I drive about 2 hours a day getting back and forth to work...AND THAT IS A GOOD DAY.
I just do not cosider myself a lazy slob for not cooking my man a meal...
and i really don't enderstand the badwagon that you speak of
But if you are surprised with my answer....i dunno...i don't find it surprising

DH and I have gotten into periods of lots of take out/ eating out when things were busy (when I was finishing my thesis, during moves, etc.) and we honestly get SICK of take out and restaurant meals, even though we also made an effort to make healthy choices.
I don't know how people can constantly eat that stuff and not get nauseous at the thought of it.

Re: Everytime I ask my friend
I love to cook too but not for "my Man", for my family, I love to see them enjoy something thaT I have cooked especially for them! But..I enjoy a night much more when there are no dishes to wash and only containers from thechinese plac to throw out Time factor is a major issue, when you work, take care of kids, runt he house, etc, etc, cooking a homecooked meal is not alwasy possible, therefor, we do the old McDonalds drive-thru many nights. Sometimes it is not out of laziness, but rather convenience

Re: Everytime I ask my friend
I have to admit, when I read the original post, my jaw dropped.
But, I saw your new reply and feel better now.
Anyway, it's funny because DH used to split the cooking and I just complained to him because lately, I'll do my cooking and then when it's his turn, he'll call me at work and offer to take me to one of my favorite restaurants.
I've been agreeable, but we're spending waaaay more money at restaraunts than I want to be spending.

Re: Everytime I ask my friend
OK, I really didnt mean to sound so sexist, I kinda just thought of it as a saying. If anyone really knows me, I do not think a womans place is in the kitchen. It was just a cliche I used, and it wasn't the right one. If my husband cooked for us, it would be egg noodles and packet brown gravy every night. I HAVE to do the cooking, or else we would be eating McDonalds and Wendys every night.
What I was saying however, is not only is it not healthy to eat stuff like that every night, it just isnt the way I "know".
If I offended anyone, I apologize. Everyone does what works for them I guess.

Yeah, that was the only issue I had with what you were saying as well, as if it's the woman's "role" to be in the kitchen and nourish her husband. I completely agree that eating junk and fast food is entirely unhealthy and sets a horrible example for children. I don't know how to cook - my mom was a HORRIBLE cook, probably because she worked all day and didn't have much energy to dedicate to cooking and the tradition continues for me - after a long day at work or in court, the last thing I feel like doing is cooking. My husband has a MUCH easier and more flexible job than I, so usually he cooks...
