I agree. Also it helps to feed them in more of an upright position (as much of a 90 degree angle as you can get)

Re: EXTREME GAS IN NEWBORN

ALexa had HORRIBLE gas..... Poor baby was sooo uncomfortable.

We started her on an infants pro-biotic nad literally within 36 hours she was SOOOOOO much better. She is still on them and barely has gas issues.

Newborns GI systems a lot of times don't have enough good gut flora (bacteria) that helps to breakdown food and in return a lot of gas starts to build up.

If you had antibiotocs while in labo ( I had a lot)r i pretty much wipes out ALL of the babies good bacteria in their GI system causing all sorts of GI issues (pooping problems and a lot of gas)

I would try a pro-biotoc. You will see a HUGE difference. You can get it at most health food stores. I reccomend you get one that is already refridgerated and has at least 3 different types of bacteria in it (not just acidopholus)

I hope he feels better! Chat Icon

Thank you SO much for posting this! My DS has had terrible gas also, and I had a ton of antibiotics while in labor as well! I am going to give the pro-biotics a shot!

Re: EXTREME GAS IN NEWBORN

I have noticed that DD is a little better since i have been taking probiotics-- maybe it is just a coincidence, but it is definitely a good one!
