EXTREMELY Long Cycles since coming off of BCP..
I had been on BCP for about 12 years, and I went off of my Birth Control Pills in March, got my period, but then it was 38 days until April's period, then 47 days until May's period, and now I'm still waiting........ So far45 days..
We aren't "officially" trying until August, but how am I going to KNOW when to try??
In May I met with a new DR and she did ALOT of blood workup and I had slightly elevated Prolactin levels. We ruled out a pituitary tumor with an MRI and got retested and everything came back normal...
I know my DH doesn't mind "Trying" every other day but I know I can't DO IT every other day!!!!
Does anyone have any Advice???!!!!

I'd like to help you but im not exactly sure what your question is.
Is it that you dont know when to start trying or is it that you dont know if you could BD every other day?

I've only been off the pill for 2 months but this past cycle was 39 days!! Uggh. You should buy that book Taking Charge Of Your Fertility. It explains a lot about when to try even if your cycle is irregular.

You can read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" if you are interested in charting. You will then learn if/when you ovulate so you know when to try.
You can also look into Vitex (a herbal supplement) which can shorten your cycle. It worked for me.

i had really long cycles after coming off the pill as well... the key was to figure out when ovulation was going to occure... i used teh opks to help figure it all out...

i had this issue also and it has finally regulated itself a year later, i would use opks to find out when you are ovulating

We are in the same situation. This is my second month off the pill too. 39 days for my first cycle. I was okay with that since it has been so many years on the pill. Now this cycle, I thought I had it figured out but who knows. I will probably be going crazy too around day 45.

I think it's important to take a few cycles to figure out if/when you are ovulation.
I'd either use OPKs, temping/charting, or CBEFM.
Then you will know when to BD and when to expect AF.
