Eye Color - When did you know?

When can you determine that your DC's eye color is going to stay blue or change to brown, hazel, etc?

anywhere up to 18 months to 2 years old..

my son had crystal blue eyes and at 18 months they changed to a light cateye green eye and they have stayed that color. (7)

dd was born with brown eyes and they stayed that way (5)

youngest dd was born with blue eyes and they have stayed that way (3)

My son's are still changing I think and he is over 3. They went from sky blue at birth, slowly changed to green by 2 years, and now starting to get more brown in the centers. I have no idea what color they will be.

Our ped stated they have up to 1 year to change, but based on previous posts, that doesn't seem to be true.

My eyes are light blue with a touch of green, from a family of blue or green eyes. DH has brown, from a family of all brown. DS has blue now at 3.5 mos, and the doctor said they'll stay that way, maybe go a bit green. But def not brown. I've heard it can change by 6 mos, 1 yr, 2 yr, still changing as an adult... But I think by the time their 2 months you'll know whether they'll go brown or not.

I went to eye doc when DS was about 3-4 months. He looked at DS eyes and said they'd stay blue. Ex-h and I both have blue eyes though.

DSs eyes changed a little after a year old from blue to brown. He has some areas that are grey blue on 1/4 of one eye and he is 4. The ped said his eyes will always have that. You have to look closely at his eyes. It looks like the twinkle that some photos of Santa Claus have. DDs eyes changed from blue to hazel at about 18 months old. Depending upon what she is wearing her eyes can be green too.

My DD was born with gorgeous blue eyes (just like her Dad) and she's now 3 and they haven't changed one bit. I heard they can change up until they are like 3-4 yrs old (not sure if that's true) but so far her eye color is staying the same.

Ds eyes were never blue. Came out dark brown, stayed dark brown.

My kids are all still changing. Even Landon at 3 years... his eyes are brown but are turing a lighter brown. (he was born with very dark almost black eyes). The twins (now 16 months) were born born with what I call colorless eyes, like a gray. travis turned green, then a hazel-green, now they are a browish hazel. Kylies turned navy blue, then hazel and they are like blue, green, and brown all at once. I have no clue what they will end up being.

Both my kids have blue eyes right now (Kaydyn is almost 4yo and I think hers might stay and Ainsley is 21mos and they seem to be getting darker).

My nieces eyes changed from blue to green as she approached 2yo they started to change and were permanently green by 3/4yo.

4 weeks - they WERE brown

DS is fair and has blond hair but his eyes were dark from the beginning. DS is 50% southern Italian (DH is 100%) so that explains it

DS's eyes were a dark blue at birth and by 5 months were bright, light blue. My ped said at that point because they were so light he didnt think they would change. He is 4.5 now and they are the same beautiful blue. My DD was born with hazel/green eyes and at around 11 months they started getting more brown. Now at 22 months, they are light brown, with a tiny bit of green in them. I don't think they will be changing at this point.
My nephew had awesome green eyes (I really didnt think they would change) till he was around 3 and then they started getting darker. Now at 8 years old, they are brown

My ds has my exact eye color (blue), he's 13 months and the ped says they most likely won't change.

MY dds eyes changed from bright blue to green/hazely brown by 18 mths-2yrs.

We still cant officially say what color DSs eyes are. He is 18 months and they still seem dark grayish blue maybe green lol so hard to tell

my ped said he has seen a decent amount of kids eyes change color up until 3years old.

with that being said, DD is 20months and still has blue eyes. we'll see what happens.

My daughter was born with grey eye, they changed to blue by 2 months, then changed to green by the time she was 1 and have been green ever since. She is now 4.5. My son was born with muddy gray eyes, then they changed to very dark brown by the time he was 1 months old and stayed that way ever since. He is now 6.5.

My husband has green eyes, I have light brown eyes. One grandpa has gray eyes, one has blue eyes, one grandma has hark brown eyes, another one has light brown eyes.

Go figure...

I'm so curious about this! DD has bright, light, blue eyes.They've gotten significantly lighter since birth, she had grey eyes.

My husband has light green, but I have brown. Everyone keeps saying her eyes are so light they are going to stay blue, I keep saying I bet they turn green. Our parents have blue or green eyes (except my dad). It's so interesting that some kids had blue eyes up to a year that changed brown. I had pretty much ruled that out as an option, but I guess we'll see!!

DS #1 started out with bright blue eyes and from 18 months to 2 years, they have started to change to a more green color.

DS #2 has the bright blue still.

I have blue eyes and my DH has hazel.
