Family Tree / Ancestry Software
Can anyone recommend a really good software package for creating a family tree?
Anything besides ancestry.com.

I use Legacy. Legacy 6.0
They have a free version that you can download from the website, as well as a "deluxe" edition you can buy. I have the deluxe version, but the free version is really good.
I used to use Family Tree Maker, but I started having lots of problems and I lost a couple of my data files.

My Dad is an avid user of Family Tree Maker. He recently got up to 1000 people entered in our tree!

thank you for all the suggestions,
I spoke with FIL and he wants me to order Legacy 6.0 for my MIL for her birthday. So we'll see how they do with that one.
