No F ing way...  Kill a 5 year old that's life not 12 years..
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The father of a 5-year-old boy slain by a neighbor in 1975 - who then kept the boy's shellacked skull and bones in his bedroom dresser - says he'll kill the man who was convicted if he is released 12 years early from a 40-year sentence.
Michael Woodmansee confessed to killing Jason Foreman in South Kingstown in 1983 and was convicted of second-degree murder.
The Providence Journal reports that Woodmansee is eligible for early release for good behavior as part of a plea bargain struck to spare the family the pain of a trial.
Foreman's father, John Foreman, tells WPRO-AM on Monday that if that happens, he intends to kill Woodmansee as aggressively and painfully as he killed Foreman's son.
"I do intend, if this man is released any where in my vicinity, or if I can find [him], I do intend to kill this man," John Foreman told the station Monday.
He called Woodmansee a monster and a cannibal who ate his son's flesh off his bones.
He told the station if Woodmansee gets out, he believes he would kill again.

Sorry , thats the 1st thought that came to mind....I cannot blame that poor father, and I can only imagine the anguish that he has suufered and will continue to suffer....
The sad and disgusting part is that if he were to act on his words, chances are good that he would end up serving more of a sentence than the sicko who did this to his innocent child...
Sometimes our justice system angers me...This whole story outrages me and in this peticular case, i do not feel the punishment fit the crime...

The only thing I think the dad is wrong about is announcing it Certainly makes it harder to kill him if the police and the guy are alerted to premeditated murder. Justified, no doubt.

Yeh, except he shouldnt have said anything because it would be considered pre-meditated since he spoke about it. Although I would hope no jury in their right mind would send him to jail.

AMEN! And heck, if he needs ANY assistance whatsoever I'm available. I'd love to get my hands on this freaking animal. How in the WORLD can he be sentenced to ANYTHING but life without the possibility of parole?!
And honest to God, if he does get out and he kills him -- he'll be taking one for the team and for the good of society because there is no doubt in my mind that he will find someone else and kill them too just like he killed that boy - to kill that brutally, there's no doubt he would do it again. I truly believe that.
ETA - the more I think about it, I just feel like this can't be the first victim. Usually, with these types of maniacs - they don't start this 'big', for lack of a better term. Usually sickos like this start out smaller and work their way up. IDK why but I feel like there would be other victims. Especially because it was so many years until he confessed - he could have been doing anything. So scary.

I saw this on the morning show this morning and was shocked. I couldn't believe what I heard. May get out for good behavior! Unbelievable. Shouldn't be. He should rot in jail.
But honestly, I don't think he will be released. I think he will be released to a mental hospital.
They can not let this animal walk the streets. They just can't.

wow!
everything about this story just screams all the things wrong with our system.
40 years?? not life without parole?? really? 40 years and he can get good behavior?? that sentencing does not fit the crime!! it's far too lenient.
I don't believe in the good behavior on a lot of cases... esp this one. for someone who killed and ate a child, documented it and then kept the bones.... if you have good behavior while in jail... that shows to me that you belong there. because your behavior out on the streets was anything but good behavior!!! so stay in jail with your good behavior, rot and die in there.
They NEVER EVER EVER EVER should have even given this guy a plea bargain. On the video the guy explains how he probably got 40 years bc they didn't think he would make it that long and they wanted to save the family from having to hear the details. UMMM.. that should NOT be something to go by!! You don't know how long someone is going to live for!! and really, does THIS save the family from anything?? Letting him out early?? he shouldn't even be out in 40 years, let alone 12 years early!!!
they should def go to the hearing and fight for the diary to be unprotected and fight for this man to stay in jail.
it's a sad shame that no one in jail has killed him. he deserves a painful murder as a death.
that father has every right to be outraged. and i wouldn't blink an eye if he did actually kill this man. I'd lOVE to be a juror on that jury!!!

Serve him up on toast and serve cocktails while doing it, as far as I'm concerned.
For the Father of this poor child, I could never imagine what hellish existence this man is having to live in, but announcing you were going tokill him probably wasn't a hot idea. I realize it's coming from a place of tremendous stress and anxiety, that one can't even imagine.
But if I were to truly plan to kill this guy, I would plan it an do it, not make the announcement. Spending the rest of his life injail, because they will go after him if he actuallydoes it, is not the way to honor his son's memory.

I am sure if the father does not murder him, someone else will. The father says he regrets every day of his life there was some kind of a plea bargain.
I don't blame the father one bit.
This is obviously all over our news since I live in RI, and there ahs not been one person who disagrees with the father of the boy. He will be hunted down and killed by someone I think.
